Unfortunately, Winter Park is also falling victim to the stagnant real estate market. It has an oversupply of homes and sluggish buyer demand. A strong buyer market is in place. There is no short term improvement forecast for market conditions. A huge supply of inventory needs to be sold off. As of the end of July, there were 976 homes for sale with 14 months of unsold inventory supply. The average sale price for Winter Park for July was $462,639 ($28 per sq. ft.). The high sale price was $2,295,000, the low was $114,140, and the average price is $462,639. Winter Park Mayor, David Strong unveiled an $18 million proposal recently that would kill plans for the city's most controversial building - The Carlisle, a four-story condominium, post office and retail project.  The mayor who has been meeting secretly with developers of The Carlisle, told commissioners that he isn't sure where all the money will come from but pledged $100,000 out of his own pocket as part of a drive to raise nearly a third of the cash.This project would expand its downtown park and build new city facilities.  The project, which had received all but its final approval from the city, was to be built where the current post office sits on Central Park.City commissioners thanked Strong for his initiative but expressed concern about the interlocking pieces and the short tim...
