On January 19th, 2008, my sister, our grandparents and I went down to Flagler Drive in West Palm Beach to Race for the Cure. This is a fundraiser for the research of a cure for Breast Cancer. The Komen South Florida Affiliate was established in 1991, and since then has raised over two and a half million dollars annually. They host a day of jogging, walking, and more for all ages; Co Ed, Kids, tots, men, and woman. Although I must say that most teens wouldn't like getting up before ten to go and run, since we do this already in Gym, I felt proud to because breast cancer runs in my family. All of my family members had been strong fighters, but my Aunt Colleen just over a year ago didn't make it. The times are changing, and so is our technology. In a blink of an eye we went from beepers to cell phones.  Brick cell phones to credit card sized cell phones.  As if that wasn't enough, we now have the ability to: takes pics with our phone, take video with our phone, enter addresses and dates into our phones, even the ability to listen to music and record information on most phones.How about the internet?  How many of you remember the dreaded dial up.  I use to cringe every-time my phone would ring, because I would loose pertinent data that I was working on, as the computer would boot me out.  How did we go from dial up to one click of the mouse and you are on-line. I finallly understand why banks and other mortgage lenders are scraping the bottom of the barrel trying to claw their way up to daylight.  If my experience dealing with a short sale in Century Village, West Palm Beach is any indication, these lenders have a very long way to go.The property in question is a small one bedroom, one and a half bath 738 square foot condo in the 55+ community of Century Village.  My unfortunate client bought it without benefit of a Realtor's advice in 2006 for $74,000.  Her loan on the property is about $51,000.  A series of medical misfortunes left her unable to work and without means to pay the mortgage.  We listed the property about six months ago for $65,000 though its value is much less.  Similar units sold comp out to about $34,000.  This is not an unco... 12/26/2007

How long do you keep your Halloween decorations up for?  It is a really good question.  Tonight at my office, Quantum One Realty, we had "Happy Halloween Happy Hour".  The decorations went up this morning and they were down by the end of the party.  My friend, Erik, who I work with, thinks they should stay up until Thanksgiving.  My friend, David, who I also work with, is the one that started taking down the decorations, immediately when the party ended.  I personally think it's ok, to keep your decorations up for a week or 2 after Halloween.  Two weeks is probably pushing it.  Then it is time to get out your turkey decor which is basically up until the day after Thanksgiving.  That's when I start getting all of my Christmas decorations out.  Then the day after Christmas should be the d... 10/31/2007
