Last night was Satellite High School's pre season kickoff game and what a game it was! Friday night high school football is one of my favorite pastimes.   The Satellite Scorpions wiped the field with the Gateway Panthers. In the past, Satellite High School football hasn't really been known for having a strong team. Although, last year was a much better year than they had in a long time.  Come on, what do you want?  The school is right across the street from the beach.  So, there are a lot of students that live to surf. This year, the Scorpions have a number of new players from neighboring schools.  And, are we proud to have them on the Scorpion team. Satellite High Scorpions beat the Gateway Panthers 48-7. Relay For Life is being held on Saturday April 10, 2010 at 2:00.  It will be at the Satellite High School, Satellite Beach, FL football stadium.  It is an event sponsored by the American Cancer Society to bring communities together in the fight against cancer.  The guests of honor are cancer survivors.  Teams camp out on the field for 18 hours. Each team always has a member on the track, walking or running, moving around the track, as cancer never sleeps. Survivors walk the track and are honored for their strength, courage and determination in overcoming the disease. They are an inspiration to others. The event raises money through different types of fundraising, all in the hopes of finding a cure against cancer.   I just finished reading Ann Haydens Blog today about 10 Safer Driving Tips on how to drive cautiously while there is snow and ice on the ground. # 2 on Ann's list was to Pack emergency supplies in your vehicle:  food, water, blanket, shovel, sand, ice melt. and #3 was  Keep your gas tank at least half full because you never know when you are going to get into a jam.
