  If you read my restaurant reviews at all...you know I love Pizza. I am always searching the Space Coast for the best slice...and I can tell you...like any other area in the Country...we have our hits and misses. A N.Y. Pizza House in Satellite Beach, FL (they also have a Cocoa Beach location) is mostly a hit...with a little bit of a miss. I do have some high hopes for this place though. On the good side, the slices are large and the true NY style thin crust is very tasty. The overall flavor of the pizza is fine. Here was my issue...they used too much sauce on the pie. Now a good flavorful sauce is essential for a quality pizza...but if you overuse the sauce it makes the pizza (especially with a thin crust) a bit soggy (a pinch less basil would also help). As many of you know, I volunteer with the Sea Turtle Preservation Society here on the Space Coast.  Being able, even if in a small way, to help these magnificent animals has been wonderful for me.  One of the things that we work towards is to return sick or injured sea turtles back to the ocean whenever possible.  If you haven't been on one of our turtle walks during the nesting season, or even if you have, now's your chance! I love sushi. Since I do not eat red meat, chicken, turkey, pork...etc... I am often very limited in many restaurants.   In the northern most section of Satellite Beach is a section of homes and businesses known as South Patrick Shores. It offers affordable pricing as well as having quite a bit to offer families and seniors! Sea Turtle season is in full swing here on the Space Coast. It is that time of year when the turtles lay eggs up and down the Brevard County coast. We have three types of turtles that lay eggs here....the Green Turtle, the Leatherback (pictured above) and the Loggerhead. My son and I went out last night (6/5/13) with the Sea Turtle Preservation Society and actually watched a mommy Sea Turtle (a Loggerhead) who was well over three feet long lay over 100 eggs! This time of year you can book a Turtle Walk with the society (located in Indialantic, FL). They have very limited space so call ahead. It costs $10 for anyone under 13 and $15 for adults.
