About Oct 2011, we started feeding 2 Sandhill Cranes and around January, only the male started coming around and we thought the worst as some do get killed by cars around here. And knowing that these creatures mate for life, we kept feeding "Charlie" knowing he would not mate again. Little did we know until today, "Charlie" was anything but single. Here is what "Charlie" brought us this morning for Father's Day! Made us feel like proud parents also as we have been taking care of Dad for 8 months and now he brings the family home to meet the parents. What a great start to the day! On this Father's Day, 2012, it has been 12 long years since my granddaddy went home to Our Lord and I can hear him everyday in my daily life. I hear him saying " "you get that education" and you will make granddaddy proud!"  "You will be the first one in our family to go to college and make something of yourself." My grandfather was an 8th grade educated man, but he made it his life project to make sure I would be better.  He never knew that would never happen as he was the greatest, kindest, gentlest man that ever walked this earth. I remember growing up and starting fishing with him in a 14 ft Starcraft Vbottom boat with a 9.9 hp johnson motor.
