Oma's Little Princess turned 5 this past week and the 'official' party was held at Marshall Street Park in Safety Harbor Florida. Safety Harbor Florida has so many wonderful parks and Marshall Street Park offered everything that was needed for a great afternoon. Besides Spider Girl turning five, it was great to see my nephew, Joseph Roberts, who is in pre-med at the University of Florida up in Gainesville. I don't get to see him nearly enough and was amazed at how TALL he has gotten! If you are looking for the perfect place to have a party, I suggest you check out Marshall Street Park in Safety Harbor Florida or one of the other fantastic parks in Safety Harbor and the surrounding area.

Safety Harbor Florida - Market Report for August 2011 is as follows: When we examine Single Family Homes in Safety Harbor we find 15 homes that closed during August 2011. On the high end was a 4 bedroom, 4 bath pool home on Bayshore with 3396 sq ft of living space that was listed for $700,000 and actually sold for $636,500 after 197 days on the market. On the lower end was a 2 bedroom 1 bath bank owned home with 1180 sq ft of living space that needed A LOT of repair work. The most expensive of this short list is a 4 bedroom 3 bath 2870 sq ft pool home in Old Harbor Place. This home was on the market for only 75 days, which is amazing since it was a short sale! Listed at $365,500 this home actually sold for $345,000. On the other end of this list of 18 homes is a 2 bedroom 1 bath 1538 sq ft bank owned home that was listed for $62,000 and sold for $47,250 after being on the market for 246 days! Safety Harbor Florida Market Report for the First Half of 2011 is as follows:In the category of Single Family Homes there were 96 sales. They ranged from a high list price of $1,160,000 that sold after 290 days on the market for $900,000. This home was a 5 bedroom, 5.5 bath with 6626 sq ft of living space and just under two acres of land. At the other end of the spectrum was a 3 bedroom, 1 bath bank owned home with 971 sq ft that was listed and sold for $39,900 after only 27 days on the market! Philippe Park in the picturesque town of Safety Harbor-Florida is one the prettiest parks on the Florida's West Coast. It sits on the side of, and overlooks Old Tampa Bay and has scenic walkways along the water with lots of benches for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the view. Great for a family picnic too. Philippe Park was acquired by the state in 1948 out of what was the plantation owned by Count Odet Philippe; who introduced cigar making and citrus culture to Florida. It was originally 162 acres. Also, of historical interest, there is an Indian Mound that is listed in the National Register of Historic Landmarks. You'll have to climb the mound to see it or you can bicycle up. Safety Harbor is such a unique and funky little town located directly on Tampa Bay. It is always difficult to take only one or two photographs! While I was there today I took several shots of individual homes and one more than uniquely individual garage! And while the AR photo blogger contest only allowed a single photo, it was impossible NOT to want to share some more of these photos with everyone!   You have to attempt to imagine all of these homes in a row on one really funky street! Water lilies are another beautiful plant. Safety Harbor has many ponds that have these lovely plants in them! When I see a water lily it reminds me of being at Piestany in the Slovak Republic. This world famous spa town has some of the most beautiful water lilies I have ever seen. But you don't have to travel around the world to see them, there are a wide variety right here in sub-tropical Safety Harbor Florida! Where the sun always shines and it NEVER snows!!!
