What a perfect Saturday early dinner we enjoyed at one of our favorite restaurants here in Port Orange, Aunt Catfish on the River.  We timed it perfectly, and beat the crowds that were arriving late afternoon and lining up at the door. This restaurant is located on the Port Orange Causeway/Bridge directly on the east side of the beautiful Halifax river.We had family visiting from Georgia and knew if we wanted to get in before the weekend crowds, we better get there by about 3pm.  We all enjoyed a pre dinner cocktail and then a most delicious meal.    Several years ago I wrote a blog about my Front Porch Makeover."I was inspired by beautiful photographs of gorgeous topiary trees in planters on either side of the front door."  I learned several things since that makeover...Number one, it's not that easy trying to keep these beautiful topiary plants alive and healthy. Surprisingly they made it through the hurricanes last year but the winter chill took its toll on them.  So, it was time to replace the plants and try to correct a few of the mistakes made from round one.  Purchase New Plants...The new topiary plants I purchased at Lowe’s. We are working on a short sale in Port Orange, which is a referral from AR member in Lakeland Petra Norris.This is how it looks after Matthew brushed the Atlantic coastline in East Central Florida.Luckily, it seems like the roof is intact, which is a huge relief. We spent couple of hours trying to get the branches to the sidewalk, so that the city could get it, but there is a lot of too heavy stuff there, and there is a lot to do. Two trees snapped.
