If you want to have a day of exploring, then come to Emerson Point in Palmetto Florida.  There are many hiking trails and lots of things to discover.  It is also a great way to just get away and relax for the day.  I created a slide show of just a few things you can see there while visiting Emerson Point in Palmetto Florida.Emerson Point is located on the West side of Palmetto right on the bay on Snead Island.  As you can see by the pictures, it has some incredible views, but it also contains a lot of history.  It was interesting to read about the people who lived there earlier and see the remains of the chimney and cistern of their homestead.  The walk-paths are clearly marked so you won't get lost.  I haven't gone up to the viewing tower yet, I will do that on the next trip when it i... 07/28/2007

What a great little park, I was pleasantly suprised to find a skateboard park there.  This made me very happy as I have seen skateboarders in the past around Palmetto and they never really had a good place to go to skateboard, now they do at Blackstone Park in Palmetto Florida.Blackstone Park also has a very nice soccer field and many times I have driven by to see games in progress.  This little park is tucked away on the West side of Palmetto off of 14th Ave W.  Stop by and check it out, plan a nice family picnic and spend some time relaxing and unwinding at Blackstone Park.If you would like more information on Palmetto, CLICK HERE 07/28/2007

Emerson Point is a 195-acre park located in Palmetto on Snead Island.  It is located at the end of 17th St W where the Manatee River meets the Gulf of Mexico.Click here to view a map of where Emerson Point is located at.I decided to take a drive out there to get some pictures of the area and of the water.  I have been there a few times, but until yesterday, I wasn't even aware of what I had been missing.  Normally when I go, I drive all the way to the end of Emerson Point to the water.  Yesterday, I noticed that soon after you enter into Emerson Point, there is an area off to the left to park your car, so I decided to check it out.  I was surprised at what I found!!  Located there on top of the hill are still some old remains of an Indian Village and earlier pioneers homes.  It was COOL... 07/17/2007

                             Yesterday, Palmetto celebrated the 4th of July fun style!  I had a lot of fun there.  It was fun to watch the kids play on the rides, listen to the music and sit on the pier watching the sun set as all the boats came into the Marina to watch the fireworks from their boats.  And of course the fireworks topped it all off.  It was an all around fun day!There was something there for everyone to do.Live bands playing throughout the dayTons of food, beer & beveragesGifts & craftsSmall car showGames and rides for the kids including a HUGE water-slide, a fun house and several other carnival ridesPony ridesA circus that included a couple of comedians, a clown, a guy that walked the wheel while it was spinning and a 17 year old girl riding a motorcycle in a steal cage... 07/05/2007

 Waterfront living, executive homes, luxury homes, this is what describes Rivieria Dunes.  Sitting right on the Manatee River, Rivieria Dunes contains one of the last protected harbors to be built.  The selection of homes are single family homes, condos and town homes, either choice displays the best of everything.  Granite countertops, private elevators, spectacular views, it just doesn't get any better than this.  Boat slips are available for sale within the community, however take note that only motor boats will probably work.  Rivieria Dunes is on the east side of the bridge and isn't tall enough for sail boats to go under to get to the bay.  If you want to live in Rivieria Dunes and own a sailboat then your two options would be to get a slip at Regatta Point or the Bradenton Yacht ... 06/24/2007
