This boathouse embodies all that comes to my mind when I'm on the Intracoastal Waterway- affectionately referred to as "the river" by all us locals. This private dock is situated near the New Smyrna Beach- Edgewater line on scenic Riverside Drive, The boathouse, dock and gear is lovingly maintained. Obviously the owners, like so many of us who appreciate nature's beauty and that serenity found only on the water, away from phones and faxes and e-everythings recognize and revere this sanctuary. Home of the Monster Cookie! If there is one thing I am passionate about besides real estate...its cookies! I have been known to bake Christmas cookies in the hundreds, year after year just to give them away box after box to the children large and small of baking impaired mothers. Bank Of America made great strides in the past week to exit the TARP program by selling new stock to raise capital. Citibank, the last of the "Big Banks" in the program without a clear exit strategy, has made overtures in the last 24 hours that they will attempt a similar exit strategy. The program that will be forever know as the Big Bank Bailout, seems to have accomplished many of its goals, and the mood of the nation seems favorable toward the propping up of the financial system to come to a close. It will be interesting to monitor interest rates, as well as the ability for consumers and businesses alike to borrow money, as TARP winds down. Monday, October 26, 2009  The Venetian Bay Auction was a great success over the weekend. The Auction started with 8 pre-sales, and heavy bidding on the first unit on the block. The opening bid was $176,000 and quickly went up to the winning bid of $231,000 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. Unfortunately for the seller this was the best sell he had for the day. The remainder of the sells favored the buyers. The next unit, a 3 bedroom 2 bath sold for $187,100. By the end of the auction, 6 more units were sold for a total of 16 including the 8 pre-sales, with the best buy of the day being the last unit sold. A 2660 sq ft 4 bedroom 3 1/2 bath condo, the Barcelona. Monday, October 12, 2009  I have been asked several questions about the upcoming auction at Venetian Bay, here are the questions and answers. All the advertising for the upcoming auction at Venetian Bay states that 10 of the units are Absolute Auctions, what does that mean? That means the unit will be sold to the highest bidder if the auctioneer accepts a starting bid. If the builder does not like the bids that are being offered, he does not have to accept the bids and does not have to sell the unit. Can I pre register for the auction?
