I began in the mortgage industry in 1998 with a Mortgage Broker in Atlanta as a processor. Growing with the company I became the Processing Manager with a team of 8 processors. In 2003 I went to work for America's Homebuilder, DR Horton Homes mortgage company, DHI Mortgage in Atlanta. I started as a Sr. Processor as I trained to be a Jr. Underwriter with the company. My Atlanta commute was eating away about 4 hours of my day and ready for a change, I found myself packing to make the move to sunny Florida. My sister, Cinnamon, already owned Abaca Mortgage, Inc in Navarre Florida. I moved to Gulf Breeze in May of 2005 and started working with my sister. If you haven't been to Navarre Beach lately, it's a good time to go back!  Post hurricane repairs are in full swing and the beach is once again alive with local activity.  They've recently rebuilt wooden bridges (to include handicap ramps) over the sand dunes providing easier access for all, and to protect the natural vegetation.  Showers have been added to the edge of the parking lot and there's usually ample parking.   Efforts to restore the sand dunes with their natural vegetation are underway:On your way to the Navarre Bridge you'll see that the new Chamber of Commerce building is coming along nicely!  This past Tuesday the building received a nice shade of blue paint that makes it almost disappear into the background.  The Children's Water Park is always full of children and the Pa... 08/10/2007

There is less than a week left in the regular legislative session in Tallahassee.  In order for meaningful residential and commercial property tax reform to pass, legislators are going to have to put politics aside and come to an agreement acceptable to Governor Crist.  Several proposals are on the table, but no matter how great the ideas, there will be no relief if the legislature cannot compromise and pass a bill.   After carefully analyzing the options, the Florida Association of REALTORS® (FAR) has concluded that the following action should be taken by the House and Senate:   -         Roll back the local governments' property tax base to 2001, -         Allow for portability of Save Our Homes savings and make it retroactive ,-         Ask voters to approve a $25,000 tangible person... 04/26/2007
