The Filling Station Lofts   After an 8-year stand still that was caused  by a global financial crisis, foreclosure and change in ownership, the highly anticipated lofts have finally hit the market. This one bedroom-1 bathroom, bi-level loft has soaring 18' ceilings, top of the line appliances, and panoramic downtown views. The unit also comes with 1 parking spot, and the building allows pets (even over 20 pounds).  The monthly rental price comes in at $3,950.00. This should be interesting considering it is not on the beach and in a very "urban" setting. If you like this style of living this is an awesome unit. Can't wait to see who rents it!

Last week Jamey and I were driving to the Marquis condominium building to meet a client who is interested in purchasing Downtown Miami luxury condos.  We arrived a little earlier so we decided to drive by the Perez Art Museum and new Science Museum to take a few photos.  The Perez Art Museum is already open and the Science Museum is in the process of being completed. An interesting side tip to know is that the Perez Art Museum was designed by the Starchitect firm Herzog & de Meuron, the same architect who did the famous 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage in South Beach.

Are you ready for this?  Here is how Miami, Florida is attempting to reinvent its real estate self.  The Miami new construction condo market is now 90% foreign owned.  Things are looking good for the time being and realtors galore in Dade County are just eating it all up with their South American, Canadian, and British friends.  Sounds a lot like the 80s condo boom when "Miami Vice" was heating up, although back then it wasn't so much about investing as it was about money laundering.  Today these buyers are simply making the same mistakes that led to the housing meltdown of just a few years ago.  Don't these people ever learn?  There is no way Miami can support this kind of housing market.  You need a good source of primaries to supplement the local economy and these buyers are only loo...

Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle is warning residents about a recent e-mail scam filled with legal-sounding jargon – but with notable grammar and spelling mistakes – threatening the arrest of the recipient if they do not send $750 immediately in order to pay off an alleged debt, according to public information officer Ed Griffith on Tuesday. The bogus e-mails contained a fake court case number, threaten an impending arrest and attempt to acquire valid credit card information from consumers. “I’m outraged that thieves would hope to use the prosecutor’s office as a tool to get cash from terrified victims,” Fernandez Rundle stated. “We have already spoken to victims who almost fell for this scheme. Only luck and good judgment saved them.” According to Fernandez Rundl...
