Sand on the Beach and Bikini Bar are really one business...with a split personality. The first floor is Sand on the Beach...a direct oceanfront bar and grill that is mostly restaurant...and caters to families, senors, couples on a date or just a friendly meeting place. The menu consists of salads, burgers, sandwiches, a nice selection of fish (the Mahi Mahi sandwich rocks), steaks and chicken options. They also serve a very good breakfast along with lunch and dinner. The food is good...the crowd seems to always be friendly (well...they are sitting on the beach watching the waves roll in)...and the wait staff is quite good. Upstairs is Bikini Bar...it is mostly bar but does offer the same food from downstairs. You can eat at the bar or on the counter that runs along the outside terrace.... 11/28/2011

TreeTop Village in Melbourne Beach (South Beaches) is a very unique development that is truly like nothing else you will see on the entire Space Coast. It is a development that was designed to fit into its natural surroundings and not overpower it. The best description I can give is that the neighborhood looks like a bunch of cabins that you might find when searching for vacation rental cabins on a lake in Upstate NY. Melbourne Beach is a small City in the southern portion of the Brevard County Florida beach area. It is a quaint place...originally founded in 1883...that has retained much of the charm of a turn of the Century hamlet. The period homes and businesses harmonize nicely with newer buildings and homes...many of which have been constructed with a nod to early 1900's architecture. My favorite spot in Melbourne Beach is Ryckman Park. The park is loaded with amenities. Tennis courts, basketball court,  multiple children's playgrounds (including rubber chips), gazebos, BBQ areas, fishing (the western portion of the park is bordered by the Indian River and includes the stunning Melbourne Beach Pier), bathroom facilities...and some of the best climbing trees in the County! ...now I love the south... 10/24/2011

  Life With Wee People: The cell phone diaries of minions and mayhem... If your home is always tidy, neat and clean then God has truly blessed you with time on your hands because mine is usually messy and we're always busy doing something else besides housework (LOL). We do get around to it eventually but my kids have a way of making it seem like you haven't done squat in four hours. It only takes approximately 15 minutes for them to wreck the place so sometimes we leave their toys alone and simply enjoy the fact that the wee people have room just to be little boys playing. My babies love their solid oak bar stools and can be frequently found twirling in circles at the kitchen counter when not obsessing over the computer, music, art, movies, books, toys and going outside to play. We headed to the beach yesterday afternoon.  It was such a pretty day.  So many were enjoying the nice weather we've been having. And, Uncle Charley was in town so we wanted to share some special time with him.  The water seemed clearer and more blue than it has in quite some time.  The waves were breaking close to the shore and it was high tide. It was a great day for the beach, as the water temperature wasn't too bad. We wanted to catch a shot of the Super Moon.  The moon was closer to the Earth than it has been in 18 years. It appeared 14 percent bigger, and 30 percent brighter. The view over the Atlantic Ocean was magnificient.
