Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving. Ever since I saw "A Christmas Story" I can't help but think of the scene where the dogs ate the Thanksgiving turkey al the while the narrator (Ralphie) espouses his dismay that there will be no days of post Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, turkey omelets. etc. Well now those dogs have a new place to chow down.If the title threw you off, that's not "Wolf Gang" but "Woof Gang". Jupiter is a very pet friendly toen. Our beaches are designated dog beaches with convenient poop bags and poop stations. You can let your dog run the sandy shores and swin our clear blue waters without fear of being told to leave.Since we are so pet friendly here there is no shortage of veterinarians, pet stores, groomers that come to your home and more. Now there...

Ahhh...the season is upon us, time for family, friends, fun and lots of food. It also means for those of us that live here permenantly that it's time for increased traffic, long waits at local restaurants, higher gas prices (okay well we all have that one), no parking spaces and of course crowded beaches. The hurricane shutters are coming down, windows are flying open to allow the ocean breeze flow through. As an agent these temporary residents offer us an opportunity to turn over some inventory as well.Temporary residents (snowbirds) use all sorts of goods and services just like permanent residents. They shop at grocery stores, go to movie theaters, fill up their cars with gas, put wear-and -tear on the roads and add to traffic congestion. It's important to have some idea of the number ...

Today, I was out running errands and was reminded of one of Jupiter’s hidden gems, Dune Dog Cafe. A casual cafe that reminds me of Jimmy Buffet, Key West and Margaritas. Don’t get me wrong - it is definitely a great family place. It is a place where every local has dined (embarrassed to mention if you haven’t) and a must visit for every tourist, family or friends visiting the area. If you’ve been to Jupiter, then you’ve been to the Dune Dog. The Dune Dog Cafe is tucked away off of Alt A1A in Jupiter. An open, outdoor cafe where the relaxed atmosphere makes me feel as though I should be kicked back on a boat listening to Jimmy Buffet. A nice little reminder you are in paradise! And the icing on the cake? Thursday night is lobster night for $15! Can’t beat that. They also have your usual ...

Egret Landing a place to live for active people. As the real estate market moves along many communities are feeling the need to lower prices, but how much lower can they go? Buyer are too optimistic about real estate prices. What are they expecting they $500,000 homes will sell for $200,000 and as soon as they buy it. They real estate market will come back and the same house will be worth $1,000,000? Not likely, because $200,000 is now the new comp! Congratulations, you just succeeded in lowering your own property value. Come back to reality and buy now and WAIT 2-5 years!

Every morning I try to pick one thing to do that will start my day in the most positive light.  This day I decided I'd go sit on Jupiter Island's beautiful Blowing Rocks Beach.  As I sat  and listened to the breaking waves and watched the crystal clear water I thought there is no better therapy than this!  What a magnificent tribute to one of many of Palm Beach County's magnificent beaches!  Blowing Rocks Preserve is a glorious barrier island located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon.  The preserve was named for its Limestone shoreline, which is the largest on the Atlantic Coast.  During extreme high tides,  the waves break against the rocks and force rushes of saltwater 50 feet upward, an impressive sight for visitors from all over the world. Come visit this lovely...

Technorati ProfileI thought it would be nice to provide a little history on Jupiter and Juno Beach.  Only fitting since the two names combined make up the name of our blog, Blogging Jupino.  I did a little research and was surprised to learn that the name for Jupiter was the result of a little misunderstanding from a few mapmakers long ago. Most believe that the town was named after mythology.  They were but it wasn't intended to be that way.  Before our town was named Jupiter, it was inhabited by the Hobe Indians who lived along the banks of the Loxahatchee River.  Our neighboring town of Hobe Sound is named after the Hobe Indians.Apparently, a mapmaker misunderstood Hobe to be translated in Spanish as Jobe and was then missp...

I am confused. I need your inputs! Aren't HOA's and Condo Associations supposed to be for the benefit of the Home Owners and Condo Owners? I mean Current Home Owners and Condo Owners that want to sell or lease their homes or condos, and Future Home Owners and Condo Owners that want to purchase or rent homes or condos in these HOA's and Condo Associations, need to have some sort of signal that let's these folks know that certain homes and condos are on the market to sell, lease, purchase, or rent! They all need and want exposure of the properties in order to sell, lease, purchase, or rent! By not allowing Current Home Owners and Condo Owners to put up signs on their properties, these associations are not benefiting the people they represent, but rather, hurting them gravely and financial...

I took our daughter to Go Van Gogh over the weekend for her birthday.  We've been there several times and the girl's always have a great time so she thought it would be fun to take a few of her friends.  She invited her friends over to the house beforehand for some homemade pizza (that's right - made it myself and it was actually pretty good) and cupcakes.  After all the "girl talk" and getting our groove on with the cha-cha slide we headed over to the Abacoa Towne Center where we were graciously met be Diane. Some of the girls had never been there and Diane helped them pick out a ceramic and colors for paint.  The girls got comfortably settled in at their seats and starting creating some beautiful works of art.  I then realized why the studio is so successful.  One, females (young and o...
