So after a long hard weekend of constant work, I decided to retreat to Rogue River Taproom for some much needed relaxation. This is my restaurant, my respite, my "Cheers".  Chef Dov hit is out of the park today, but then that's nothing new! Chef Dov is the chef at Rogue River Taproom. He is a former chef at The Fat Snook and Crush 11 and is upping his game at Rogue River. My friends and I just asked the chef to feed us...and feed us he did! We started with a fish dip that was amazing, creamy and sweet. Sweet may seem like an odd word to use for fish, but really it isn't. It just means that the fish is fresh. If you get a really "fishy" taste, it just means that it is old. So you're laying in bed in the middle of the night and you hear the toilet flush...You are all alone in the house and are wondering if the house is haunted....It could be, or, more likely your toilet is leaking. You're probably just hearing the toilet refilling. When the water in the tank gets low enough the automatic fill valve opens and you will hear the tank filling up. Sometimes the problem can be corrected by simply wiping water deposits off of the flap valve. Other times you will have to replace the part because it is cracked or broken. Testing for a water leak is easy. Just put a few drops of food coloring in the tank. This is a recipe I originally found online. I tweeked it a bit as I didn't think that the original recipe had enough flavor.  Slow Cooker Skirt Steak     What You'll Need 2 pounds skirt steak 1 lime, juiced 2 teaspoons cumin 1 teaspoon paprika 7 cloves garlic, minced ¼ cup fresh cilantro, rough chopped 2 teaspoons Mexican oregano, dried 1½ teaspoons salt ½ teaspoon pepper 3 tablespoons Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce diced finely   Cut skirt steak so it can fit into your crock pot. Season with salt and pepper on both sides.In a small bowl, mix together lime juice, cumin, paprika, garlic, and oregano and the chipotle in adobo. After coming back from the Grant Seafood Festival yesterday, my friend Sandy and I decided that we didn't feel like cooking so we thought that we would try a new restaurant in town called Nini's Restaurant Cuban Cuisine. Nini's Restaurant  is tucked away on the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Shannon in a space that was most recently a coffee shop,  Nini's Restaurant Cuban Cuisine  is less than 1 block from my office which makes it very for me an nice for lunches!Nini's Restaurant  is an absolute breath of fresh air taking into consideration the choice of restaurants in the area. Well the scammers are at it again! The FTC (Federal Trade Commission) and NAR (National Association of Realtors) have announced that hackers are breaking into the e-mail accounts of Realtors and Title Companies looking for upcoming closing information. Once they have accessed those accounts, they pose as the Realtor or the Title Company and e-mail the Buyer of the upcoming transaction. They tell them that there has been a "last minute change"  in the wiring instructions of where the Buyer should wire their funds.
