At the start of World War II began, the city became a major US Navy base, where the US Armed Forces trained pilots, radar and fire control operators. Fort Lauderdale is known as a major tourist destination and generally gets around 10 million tourists or more annually, and has been given the distinction of a metropolitan city mainly because of its cultural diversity. The city got its name from a series of forts built by Army during the Second Seminole War in the 18th Century. The forts, in turn, had taken their names from Major William Lauderdale, who lead the command of troops who built the first fort. The city is considered to be a wonderful place to live, work and play, because of its dynamic business, social and cultural lifestyle. The city’s riverfront district, which was developed within the past five years, offers wonderful cafes and restaurants, entertainment and business amenities that area located comfortably within walking...

Ft. Lauderdale is a city in Broward County, Florida that is considered one of he best places to live in the state, in part because it is rich with a network of waterways and canals, making it known as the "Venice of America", with the intercoastal waterway and Las Olas area located at the hear of the city. Probably one of the most unique features of the city, and of Broward county as well is the strategic location of the area wherein it is situated between two other major counties - Miami-Dade and Palm Beach. Most view this as a very convenient location, and within just a thirty minute drive, residents here will have easy access to more activities and amenities, from the region's three main airports and sea ports for travel, to more amenities for outdoor and watersports activities, ente...

Recent Fortune magazine story put it, "Forget the paycheck; your W-2 days are over. It's a 1099 world now."Many larger corporations are laying off people by the hundreds and throusands. Chrysler, Kodak, Pfizer and Ford, to name a few, have announced massive laoffs. When you can no longer count on staying at a career for decades until retirement, that is when a PLAN B is most useful. The US Department of Labor reports that the annual turnover rate rose to 41% in '05. Many are leaving corporate jobs on their own accord. People want to work less and get paid more. Most of all, people want to have time to spend with their loved ones. According to Paul Zane Pilzer, " We're in the midst of a boom in HOME BASED BUSINESSES, and it shows no sign of slowing down."This distinguished economist and ...

I don't know about the rest of you Realtor's but the people that are calling me are the ones who currently rent and see this as an opportune time to buy...They have a little money in the bank and can afford around a payment of $2000.00 a month...that means..they're looking for something that looks OK at a bottom dollar price...I'm talking $180,000- $250,000...tough to find...They are worried about the school district, the neighbors, the amenities...you all know! (I hope). So,,,that being said, there are a few good deals out there, not a lot, but they buyers are now, starting to "come out of the closet", so to speak...they're still scared but they are trusting us to help them make informed decisions...Are any of you out there experiencing the same??? Just curious...http://www.KarenMonsour...
