Homeowners facing eviction due to foreclosure proceedings can rest easier for the moment. Following several adverse court decisions throughout the country and the Florida Attorney General's well publicized investigation into the Florida Default Law Group, the Law Offices of Marshall C. Watson, P.A.; the Law Offices of David J. Stern, P.A.; and Shapiro & Fishman, LLP., both JP Morgan Chase and GMAC Mortgage have suspended mortgage foreclosure proceedings in 23 states. While several mortgage lenders have dramatically slowed the pace of foreclosures in favor of short-sales or loan modifications, Chase and GMAC have admitted to rubber-stamping documents without reviewing them in an effort to streamline the foreclosure process for maximum volume and profit. As state and national law enforcem...

In these tough economic times, your good name and reputation are important. Creditors have tightened their guidelines barring millions of Americans from borrowing money. Even those with excellent credit and high credit scores have experienced reduced credit limits and closed equity lines. Mortgage lenders, auto finance companies, credit card issuers and banks have all raised the bar. Borrowers with low credit scores can expect to be denied or to pay significantly higher interest rates than those with excellent credit. Long gone are the days of obtaining credit, goods, benefits, services and/or employment with a 620 credit score. In more instances than not, a consumer will be denied if they maintain a credit score lower than 720. The terms credit repair, credit restoration and/or credit ...

Moving into the final week of National Coupon Month, I have concluded that the 13th annual marketing campaign of the Promotion Marketing Association has been most successful of all. With 89 percent of Americans admitting the regular use of coupons, a tough economy has turned even the most frugal shopper into a coupon enthusiast. Coupons are a quick and easy way to save money at the grocery store. According to the Promotion Marketing Association, spending as little as 20 minutes a week clipping coupons can save the average family a $1,000 a year. Over 164 billion coupons were offered in the first half of 2010, building upon a record-breaking trend in 2009 when 311 billion coupons were distributed in the marketplace. Coupons come in many varieties, the most common being the manufacturer's...

Just when you thought you have heard them all! This one really had me wondering again, what planet are these lenders from? We should have a contest for the lender who does the most stupidest thing and award them a huge booby prize!  John Grodensky bought his new home in Fort Lauderdale Florida in December of last year. He paid all cash for the property. He did not get a mortgage. Bank of America approved a short sale with the previous owner and accepted and received wired funds at the closing. The sale was also recorded in the Broward County clerk records.  Boy was he surprised to find out this past July that the title to his home had been turned over to a government backed lender. He was scared to death to find out he had lost his home in a foreclosure that he never even knew about.  T...

Although Sept. 1 marked the beginning of National Coupon Month, I was quite perplexed about the absence of grocery coupons in my newspaper Labor Day weekend. Started as a marketing campaign of the Promotion Marketing Association 13 years ago, tough economic times have ignited a desire to save even more at the grocery store. A recent study indicated that 89 percent of Americans regularly used coupons when shopping for groceries. With over 164 billion coupons offered by retailers in the first half of 2010, this growth builds on the record-breaking trends of 2009 when 311 billion coupons were distributed in the marketplace. In fact, nearly $3 billion was saved using coupons last year alone. A common misconception among non-coupon users is that coupon shoppers have low incomes, are disadvan...

South Florida Loan Defaults Top $60 Billion Borrowers have defaulted on nearly $65 billion in financing in the tricounty South Florida region since the real estate crash began in 2007 as an increasing number of strategic defaults drive up the total amount past due.   In the first eight months of 2010, lenders have initiated nearly 44,000 foreclosure filings - the first step in the repossession process - seeking repayment of nearly $12 billion in outstanding loans secured by properties in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties. South Florida borrowers - some of which are choosing not to pay their mortgages despite having the financial means to do so - are on track to default on more than $18 billion in real estate loans by the end of the year, according to the report compiled using...

For the 13th consecutive year, National Coupon Month serves as a reminder that clipping coupons is an easy and fun way to save at the grocery store. Whether you shop at Albertsons, BJ's Wholesale Club, Food Lion, Publix, Save-a-Lot, Sam's Club, Sedanos, Sweetbay, Walmart or Winn-Dixie, Americans have become more frugal when shopping for groceries in these tough economic times. Both coupon distribution and use have increased substantially this past last year. A recent study shows that 89 percent of Americans have regularly used coupons when shopping for groceries and general household goods. With over 164 billion coupons offered by retailers in the first half of 2010, this growth builds on the record-breaking trends of 2009 when 311 billion coupons were distributed in the marketplace. In this tough economic time, Americans have become more frugal when shopping for groceries. While we continue to be concerned about high unemployment, the foreclosure crisis, the rising cost of food and living in general, consumers are seeking more bang for the buck. Fort Lauderdale Waterfront Homes are sometimes hidden from the busiest of streets, in a great neighborhood often hidden from tourists but loved by locals. Sunrise Intracoastal is just that kind of neighborhood. Often the amazing homes you view from the waterfront are hard to find on land. Most people who visit Fort Lauderdale at some point find themselves on Sunrise Boulevard. Sunrise Boulevard is the only direct street from US 1 that actually ends right at the sand of Fort Lauderdale Beach. Fort Lauderdale Real Estate shoppers often see the Galleria Mall as a great landmark. The water-taxi stop in nearby. There is great shopping at the mall and the surrounding area. There are numerous fine restaurants and local night spots, and it is a short distance to Fort Lauderdale Beach. Just sout...

First there was Cash for Clunker cars. Then there was Cash for Clunker appliances. With little fanfare and a lot of hassle, Cash for Clunker air conditioning units starts Monday. Following many months of speculation, state officials announced last week that Floridians can earn a $1,500 flat-fee rebate for replacing their central air conditioning systems with a more energy efficient unit. Funded by the Governor's Energy Office, the program will run through the end of 2010 or until the $15 million allocated runs out. The money, which comes through federal stimulus funding approved last year, will cover only 10,000 rebates. By comparison, the cash for clunker appliances program was funded for approximately 70,000 rebates. Obtaining a rebate will be more complicated than it was for the new ...

I just had to share this photo that was sent to me. Does anyone remember looking through the real estate books for a listing and the black and white photograph ? If you were at RainCamp in Orlando you may feel like you just went through a time warp, and it was a great experience.

Fort Lauderdale Waterfront homes in Rio Vista raise the standard of Ft. Lauderdale Waterfront luxury. Rio Vista is a Fort lauderdale Waterftont community that has an old Florida neighborhood feel. Many visitors to the Fort Lauderdale Waterfront area have visited the Las Olas Shopping area which is on the north side of the New River. They have seen the beautiful Fort Lauderdale Waterfront Homes that line Las Olas Isles as you venture from the shopping district to the beach. If they looked on the south side of the river visitors have seen some of Fort Lauderdale most luxurious waterfront estates but often has no idea had to access the area via land. This community is the Ft. Lauderdale Waterfront community of Rio Vista. With views of downtown, a street that fronts on the New River, sidewa...
