Home prices in Estero Florida are on the rise, and new numbers from Trulia shows list prices are rising across the country for eight straight months, and had the largest year-over-year increases since the housing bubble burst. In the last 12 months, home prices were up 2 1/2% on Trulia's real estate portal.  Average home prices in Estero Florida have increased by 4 1/3%*, and prices in neighboring Bonita Springs have risen 7 1/2%* during the same time frame, both markets out-pacing the national average. Student Housing for FGCU increasing, but not enough to meet demands. Student Housing for FGCU has been an issue for quite a while.  Last Thursday, Florida Gulf Coast University got state approval to finance a new residence hall to the tune of $25.7 million.  The new dorm will open in the fall of 2014 and house 520 students.  The average number of new beds per year since FGCU started it's housing program in 1998 has been 300, so the new dorm represents a needed addition for students.
