New Tax laws you didn’t know about? Well odds are there are probably many.  But I just heard one that has me shaking my head.In cities and states across the country some new laws have been enacted.  Did you know that in Seattle Washington effective 1 Jan 18 they have enacted a “sweetened beverage” tax?   Shoppers will now have to pay $1.75 per ounce on ALL sugar sweetened beverages.   To put it in perspective:  if you buy in bulk like Costco for example you will have to pay $10 in tax on a $16 case of Gatorade.   The point is to force consumers to go for healthier choices. In florida: It is illegal to sell your children Women may be fined for falling aslee under a hair dryer, as can the salon owner.    (well they better not look through my house window) Oral sex is illegal A special law... 01/08/2018

Living in the resort town of Destin, Fl provides a lot of options when dining out.  Sunday is my favorite day to take some time to be with friends and family because realistically it is the only day I can truly take off from my Real Estate business.  I have my favorite hangouts that I have written about in previous blogs but I also like trying out the new places for a variety of reasons but basically for the variety of dining experiences.  My newest find and one in which I will return is The Henderson Beach Resort and Spa.  I went there yesterday to give it a shot and was very pleasantly pleased.  It is one of the newest Resorts here in Destin and hence has not been swamped by visitors.  It has valet parking which is free when you dine there and that is a pleasant change instead of havi... 07/10/2017

I used to advertise vacation rentals on the number one site for vacation rentals but quit doing so when they not only charged me to advertise my vacation rental but also started charging you the consumer to book your vacation. I don't know hom many clients complained to me about these companies but were so happy to find me without them.Now their's is an alternative site you can use free of charge to book your next vacation. The other day I was showing homes in the Destin Florida area and had to schedule seven houses to show a couple.  This is an exercise in geography and timing. You see, you cannot just jump in the car and show up at people’s houses, knock on the door and expect them to let you in. Also, in my association – the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors, you must even call to schedule appointments for houses that are vacant.  So to plan my showing timeline, I started with Google Route Planner (there is also Mapquest Route Planner) to show me which homes were most closely located.  I added my client’s current home, as I would be picking them up from there.
