You might not hear it in the news, but it seems like the real estate market is picking up in Boca Raton, Florida.  Right now there are 390 pending contracts on residential listings in Boca.  That's a lot.  In fact that more than double the amount of properties that closed last month.  Figuring most closings occur within 30 days of the contact date, that will clock February's sales at more than double January's.  Great new for sellers! As reported by Mortgage News Daily, FICO is planning on releasing it's new credit scoring product sooner than planned.  FICO states that this new system will help reduce default rates on mortgages and other consumer loans.The key points:Consumers will not be hit as hard for an occasional, or one time missed payment provided the rest of their bills are paid in a timely manner.As a consumer and mortgage broker, I like this one. While I don't advocate that making late payments is a good thing, once in while, someone with otherwise good credit could miss a payment for some odd reason. Well is the worst behind us ? .... Quit possibly, after reviewing the cuyrrent active listings in Mission Bay we are currently at 59 actives. During the peak of 2004 to 2005 the active listings were between 39 to 49 actives listed on the MLS and about 10 For Sale Buy Owners. Today i only know of 2 active For sale buy Owners. That puts Mission Bay very close to the active listing range of the peak. A good sign possibly. The governments raising of the FHA limits may prove to be a great boost as well to the prices in Mission Bay.
