A night in December is a night to remember!   On Friday evening I attended the seventeenth performance of "A Night in December" at Amelia Baptist Church.  This is an annual performance of music and a play.  Tonight there were also two ballet dancers that perfomed choregraphed dances while some of the songs were being performed.   There will be performances Saturday and Sunday, December 13th and 14th at 7:00 p. m. of  "A Night in December"  12/12/2014

Come to the Toyland Concert at First Baptist Church Sunday evening, December 7, 2014.   Every year First Baptist Church on Amelia Island, Florida holds an "almost free" concert.  The small price for admission is one or more new unwrapped toy(s).   It is quite moving to see all the toys that have been placed in front of the altar.  The U. S. Marines collect the toys for the annual "TOYS FOR TOTS" drive.     Be sure and mark your calendars.   11/20/2014

This reflection of the moon on the ocean was captured earlier this fall.  One of the most beautiful sights I have seen is the reflection of the full harvest moon on the ocean.    This was not a harvest moon but the way the light filtered through the clouds and the sand in the foreground was breath taking. 11/18/2014

This is the story of how Kelli and I ended up living across the street from each other.  On Thursday I posted a blog about Kelli stopping by for a visit.   This morning I asked if meeting a friend like Kelli is a chance encounter or God ordained.   This meeting was definitely God ordained.  Kelli and Doug moved here when Doug became the music minister at our church.  After they had been her for about five years Doug took a position in another state.  A few years later my ex-husband was transferred with his job to a town a few hours north of where Doug and Kelli lived at the time.  Shortly after that Doug and Kelli moved back to their home state of Oklahoma and we lost touch with each other.   I had always planned to move back to Amelia Island Florida but I didn't know that Doug and Kell... 10/12/2014

This is a picture of my grandson Ryan with a fish he caught. It was taken last August by one of the lakes in my subdivision, Isle de Mai.  Ryan and his brother caught several bream, this is a pretty big one.  My grandsons have always enjoyed fishing much like their dad.     Isle de Mai is located off Bailey Road on Amelia Island, Florida. 09/30/2014

Today I saw the house with a shower big enough for several adults.  Today there was an open house at the house that I blogged about last week: Why does a house need a shower big enough for several adults? The lovely home built by Arthur Rutenberg Homes had all the upgrades one would expect for custom built home in Brady Point Amelia Island Florida. The master bathroom was huge and so was the master closet, so after seeing the layout of the house, in my opinion the shower was appropriately sized for the master bathroom. This is a picture of my estate sale find:   Yesterday I went to an estate sale in Marsh Lakes near Amelia Island Florida. I found this antique secretary desk, since it was the last day of the sale I got it for half price.     The finial is missing from the top. Nothing is more frustrating to me than trying to show a house when the key doesn't work. During my first year as a REALTOR I was showing property near the beach. I had difficulty with several of the locks.  My buyer said he had noticed that keys were not my strong point.  Since then I've learned a few things that help: Spraying WD40 in the doorknob can loosen a lock. Keys made at a hardware store or by a locksmith are more likely to work. I make a key for a secondary door if there is one. Before putting the key in the lockbox, I test it. I keep an extra key to all listings. I am a REALTOR listing and selling property in the Amelia Island Florida area.      09/26/2014

The following market statistics for condo sales in Nassau County Fl August 2014 was compiled from data obtained from the Amelia Island Nassau County multiple listing service.           This data covers condominium sales in the area during the month of August 2014 as compared to August 2013. There is a positive trend as the condo inventory is down slightly and the median and average sale prices for condos are higher than for August 2013.  09/20/2014
