Along with that you will want to give him a list of green features, date of work and cost.  The form is being offered as an optional addendum to Fannie Mae Form 1004 - the standard appraisal form for mortgage lending purposes that, according to the appraisal trade group, devotes limited attention to green home features. The Appraisal Institute recently released a three-page optional addendum form to the standard appraisal form Fannie Mae 1004. The new GREEN Form is called the Residential Green and Energy Efficient Addendum  and is meant to collect information about energy efficient and green features, such as insulation val...

It's been a busy week, so I've been behind in my blogging and getting this post up, but here goes.  As usual, Dagny Eason hosted an amazing meetup.  There were 18 of us there - well sort of...that includes Ginny Gorman who joined us virtually via a Google Hangout.   It was a lot of fun, and so wonderful connecting w/ so many great Rainers.  I believe this was the 5th one, and each time, there are some new attendees and some regulars.  For many there, this was the 3rd, 4th and 5th get together, so we are really old buddies and just begin where we left off - Dagny, Ed Silva, Jame Quarello, George Souto, Ed Silva, Janis Borgueta, Donna Bigda, Barbara Altieri and Birgit Anich.   For others, it was the first time we finally met face to face - Maria Racelis, Annette Thor  - so fun to meet the...

Have you ever tried a Google Hangout At An Active Rain Meet Up? We had our Wilton CT Meet Up last week.   Ginny Gorman had wanted to drive down from Rhode Island to attend with the 17 other folks coming, but at the last minute could not make the 3 hour drive each way.    We were both pretty sad, and conversed for a minute - then the lights went on! We both agreed that a Google Hangout would be a fun thing to try at the Meet Up.  So, about halfway through the evening, Ginny called.  (I had forgotten about it)   I ran to get my comuter, and we had a great Hangout passing the computer around so everyone had a chance to say hello.  All you need to do is sign up for a gmail account, and then on the right side, you see Hangout.   Just follow the instructions and viola!   A Hangout happens.  W...

Protecting Your Bushes for the Winter in Wilton, CT 06897 Don't forget your bushes and small trees in the dead of winter, - when the snow storms dump two feet of heavy wet snow, the bushes begin to bend and break under the weight of it all.    The winter of 2010 was a very snowy one, with two feet of snow every week.   Our bushes and small shrubs and trees were taxed beyond their strength - and not only did we lose a lot of bushes and shrubs, but we also lost roofs of buildings under the weight of the snow.    Our tennis facility for one collapsed and had to be rebuilt.   So, before the winter begins, tie up your sensitive bushes and shrubs.   Protect them from the severity of the weight of the snow.    Landscaping is a very important part of your curb appeal for your home, and therefor...
