SCOOP up an Ice Cream in Wilton, CT with "SCOOPS !!!" The shop has been around for many many years! SCOOPS was opened over 25 years ago in Wilton, CT by two local women who found a huge need for a place to go to take the kids for ice cream.   Wilton had bookstores, florists, markets, banks, clothing and sports and hardware stores, but no "treat" stores.   So, these two very good friends of mine named Care Heeks and Shelly Lawson opened one.  What is it they say?  Find a need, and fill it!  That they did.  All of the kids' sports teams go straight to Scoops to celebrate their wins, or to drown their losses.....    a fabulous congregating spot! Neither Care Heeks nor Shelly Lawson are there, anymore, other owners run it now, but the same spirit and intent and excitement about the local fa...

What's Your Home Worth in Wilton, CT in December of 2014? Wilton is a wonderful town filled with great schools, lots of town parks, theatre, sports galore, music, etc for all of the ages!   Everyone in this town participates in one way or another.    We have organic farming and farmers' markets, top rated library, great restaurants, all of the big box stores nearby (but none in town,) and a very congenial atmosphere.    Wilton is a town that has the small town feel, and yet it is centrally located between some very cosmopolitan towns that have great shopping, theatre, restaurants, etc such as New Canaan, Westport, and Stamford. I have heard that residents new to the town feel like they have lived here forever, because they fit right in and everyone is friendly. The schools are phenomena...

Wilton, CT - Four Winds Farm- a Video  http://youtu.be/ykWXZAghe8k       I am having trouble with Active Rain ......   The most lovely farm of Wilton, CT , Four Winds Farm, was developed years ago into a lovely single family homes community.    There are four different streets running through - East Winds Lane, West Winds Lane, North Winds Lane, Weathervane Lane, and, of course, Four Winds Drive.   In general, the homes are very exquisite with the finest of all finishing touches, and the grandest of rooms.   In 2003 and 2004, the Four Winds Farms in Wilton, CT was sold to a very prestigious builder who divided it into approximately 15- 20 lots, and bordered by protected conservation land.    This conservation land is maintained by the Homeowners Association.   All of the lots have been...

Can You Guess Who This Is? Traditions promote a sense of pride and help citizens grow tighter as a community. In the lovely hamlet of Wilton, Connecticut where I'm proud to call home, many traditions abound.  For four years, the Wilton Chamber of Commerce has hosted a contest to showcase local businesses, nonprofits, families and other groups. For the latter half of October, over fifty lampposts downtown are adorned with scarecrows ranging from Mork from Ork to the Wilton Warrior, our town’s sports mascot. Welcomed by the quintessential backdrop of vibrant New England foliage, one can stroll the sidewalks and admire the many hours of effort and creativity expended on designing these masterpieces. There are even prizes awarded in several categories such as funniest and scariest which wi...

Wilton Scarecrow Contest - Barbara Corcoran  She needed to be a character from a movie or TV show.                                   One of our agents, Elizabeth Walsh, put in a lot of time finding the clothes, shoes, necklace, creating her face, signs, and then everytime there was a windy day, she seemed to lose something - face, signs, nose, etc. She shopped Goodwill for the dress, shoes, necklace, tights, and then made her face on the pumpkin.     Then the pumpkin rotted.  The face fell and broke into 40 pieces.  The wind blew and removed all of the signs.   Thank goodness she stayed dressed!   She has been put back together many times, but is still on display.   Lots of fun!!!

Wilton CT Scarecrow Contest for the Lamp Posts       It's a little easier to guess who it is now that I have revealed her face, eh?   No one could guess before, but now.....   Let's see how long it takes!   This is a fun contest, and there are so many amazing works of art out there on our lamp posts - more added every day!    They all were required to be handed in last week, but it takes times for the DPW to put them up!     Here are the other pictures  in my previous post.... Our Scarecrow Entry for the Wilton Scarecrow For The Lamp Posts Contest  - Guess Who?   This is a fun contest every year, and I have always been too busy to be able to enter.    This year, Elizabeth Walsh, one of my agents with a great imagination and a huge pile of creativity, asked me if we as an office wanted to enter.     I said, "Sure!  Why not?   I have wanted to for the last 3 years, but never did."   Elizabeth took the bull by the horns, and just got it going.  We had some ideas each about what it should be -   Rules were that it had to be a movie or TV character, so that at least narrowed it down some.      Lots of other rules - how big a sign, stuffed with what, etc..     It had to be ready by this past Thursday, but the materials were not ready for pick up until Tuesday.  (Ba...

Going Above and Beyond is Normal but FUN! I received a call from a gentleman the other day with a very thick accent.  He was hard to understand because of his accent and he had a carload of very noisy kids, but he was able to communicate to me through words here and there that I could pick up on - he had found a dog, was in Ganby, VT, and wanted to locate the owner.    He assumed the owners were in Ganby for the long weekend, and their dog had gotten loose somehow.    He then gave me the address, and asked if I knew them at all.    He was panicking a little, because it was the Monday afternoon of this past holiday weekend. What he had done was Googled the address from the dog tag, and because I advertise on Zillow,  my name and picture popped up next to the property.   He assumed their ...

What a sunset tonight in Westport, CT 06880 - Wow!  After I left the Hospital in Norwalk tonight, and drove my husband home, I drove to Westport to have a quick drink with a friend who had just returned from Greece.   I simply went into shock as I walked out onto her deck with my glass of wine.      Within 10 minutes, the sky had transformed! What a sunset tonight in Westport, CT 06880 - Wow!

Dagny's Real Estate was a premier sponsor for the Touch a Truck event in Wilton, CT - right up on School Road.    Date: September 13, 2014. Hours: 11-3 pm  at Middlebrook School There were fire engines, ambulances, dump trucks, mail trucks, moving trucks, etc - every kind of truck imagineable!   There was a silent hour from 11-12  when no horns will be sounded.   This was to give sensitive children or people a chance to come and enjoy. There was featured a wide array of trucks, music, pony rides, face painting, etc.    The Darst Boom Band, balloons, Beardsley Zoomobile, Monster Mobile Arcade, plus dozens of other trucks!   I hope that you came on up to Middlebrook School yesterday morning and enjoyed the great time to be had!     A family member of mine was hospitalized the morning of ...
