Wilton CT Relay For Life Scheduled for May 29th to May 30th The Wilton Relay For Life fund raiser for cancer will be held this year on the Friday and Saturday of the weekend of May 29th thru May 30th.    This is an all night affair, walking the track with your teammates, raising money for the Cancer Foundation.    My sister in law died several years ago after battling breast cancer, so when given an opportunity to help with the Relay For Life in Wilton, I jumped at it.     I have been assisting in running the Survivor Tent where we celebrate every year as another birthday of surviving cancer.   All of the survivor return every year for a lovely dinner donated by the restaurants in town, and listen to music played by Acoustic Wilton, and then go home with at least one item donated by the... 01/31/2015

The Wilton Hardware Store is amazing. They cater to the general public, watch their prices, and are so extremely customer friendly and helpful!  Anytime there is a storm coming, they will order excess of everything they feel we will all need.   Batteries, candles, shovels, sterno, etc.   We, as many residents do now, have a generator, but still keep a good stock of supplies of batteries, flashlights, candles, etc just in case.   Tom Sato (owner) and Andy Eckman (manager) make sure they know every customer that walks in by first name, and have a very sincere interest in helping them with their little or large issues.    They both have such an incredibly deep knowledge base of information about just almost everything under the sun!   Today we have the storm of the century barreling down o... 01/26/2015

The Village Market in Wilton CT 06897 is my hero. They were my heroes when my kids were little 40 years ago, and they are still my heroes.   A HUGE part of being in Wilton!     I remember when my first born - my son, had an ear infection, and I questioned whether I could go into the market with a fussy child to pick up some groceries and a few necessities for him.   As I entered, Charlie, the most wonderful white haired gentle man (who WAS the Market in those days!) came right over and talked to Johnny and got him giggling instead of fussing.   He gave him a bag of chips and Johnny was thrilled!   From then on, I was a fan of The Village Market and of Charlie!    All of the rest of my kids would beg to go to the market and run to the basket of KIDS' CLUB treats and be good as gold.    C... 01/25/2015
