How can we solve the water problems after the rains? The 2011 winter in the Northeast was fraught with ice dams and leaky ceilings. We now have heavy rains and warmer temperatures sending water into our basements and floating homes “down the river” figuratively and literally. Depending on where you are located, your homes are literally floating away, or at the least, filling up with muddy waters. The big box stores are stocking their shelves with sand bags on pallets, and will not have enough to help with the latest onslaught that will come tomorrow. If you are lucky enough to live on high ground, you still may have a very high water table. For some reason, the water table is not related to low or high ground.
