It was a perfect afternoon for a picnic.  This picnic was so special that the people there traveled in from CA, MI, FL, ME, NJ, PA as well as all pars of our home state of Connecticut. The occasion was the 50th High school reunion of the 1966 Calls of J F Kennedy High School in Waterbury CT.  This class was special as it was also the first graduating class for the school which opened as a new high school in September 1965.The class size was 350 large at the time. For this afternoon, there were 70 that made the trip to Watertown CT to the grounds of the Sunset Grill to spend a few hours renewing old acquaintances and enjoy some laughs. A post by Amy Hahn  yesterday on socializing with fellow real estate professionals hit a chord with me especially as our local board has been doing just that for years.Once a month we have a planned social gathering at a local restaurant, (Lounge actually). We all get excited about anniversaries. It is a milestone that attests to the perseverance and dedication we put into a portion of our lives.  It can be a special birthday;  a recognition of years on a job; time sent doing something special like bogging and of course the celebration of a coupe's commitment to each other. Such was the case for our family this past week, as we celebrated the 70th wedding anniversary of my parents, Joseph and Laura Silva. They were married in Cambridge MA on April 27, 1946. Like so many young couples right after World War ll, they had to put their energies on getting jobs, which is what brought them to Waterbury CT a my father was secure with the job he had prior to getting drafted into the Navy in 1942. Whomever Shows Us the House Gets the ListingWhile sitting over a cup of coffee after showing a listing to an out of town, potential buyer, he offered that he had investment properties and had a couple in Waterbury CTthat he was selling. I suppose I got lucky, especially as this was not the person that I had started out with originally. Earlier in the week, a new buyer called me and asked to see this particular house. I set up the showing, and 10 minutes later the agent that had confirmed the showing call me and told me another potential buyer would call me to see that same house.
