Residents of the town of Sherman, Connecticut are scheduled to vote on the town budget on Saturday, May 12, 2007. The proposed 2007-2008 budget (combined municipal and schools) represents an approximate 4% increased over the 2006-2007 budget.  If the budget is approved, the mill (tax) rate would change from 15.4 to 16.0. A recent poll of Sherman, Connecticut residents, conducted by the Sherman Open Space and Land Acquisition Fund Advisory Board and the Sherman Conservation Commission indicates that town residents in the small rural town overwhelmingly support preserving open space within the town.
