IT’S BEGINNING TO FEEL A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS....     It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas... in New Fairfield, Connecticut, anyway and probably in the surrounding areas as well... and in more ways than one.          It’s a veritable winter wonderland outside, with thick, wet snow coming down profusely. We were told four to six inches, but who knows? Temperatures are dipping and it’s very gloomy outside, brightened only by the white beauty. The silence of the falling snow is serene.     Another wonderful Christmas aspect - the family is gathering! Our family has gotten smaller with the loss of three grandparents and recently a beloved uncle, not to mention a family dog and cat, all in the last ten years... Now it’s growing again: we look forward to welcoming a boyfriend and hoping ...

REMINDER - IT'S FARMER'S MARKET DAY IN NEW FAIRFIELD ON WEDNESDAYS!   9:00 AM - 12:00 NOON   see details below:   NEW FAIRFIELD HAS ITS OWN FARMER’S MARKET!    August 20th, was the launch of the New Fairfield Farmers Market, located conveniently at the Little Red School House, close to the center of town. The effort was organized and brought to fruition by a local student, Jenna Iadarola, who did this as a Girl Scout project.     So far, only two local farms participated: Sullivan Farm from New Milford and Judson Farm from Wingdale, NY. The current thought is to keep only those two vendors so as to minimize competition for the same products.    Last week the New Fairfield Farmer's Market also welcomed a flower grower, who provided beautifu cut flowers to round out the market's offerings...

Home Prices in New Fairfield, CT Over Last Year 2013-2014 - Market Report   Real Estate market update for New Fairfield, CT presented by Olga Simoncelli of Veritas Prime Real Estate.   New Fairfield, CT Home Prices and Trends   New Fairfield, CT home prices and numbers of homes sold are still a bit choppy, reflecting seasonal trends to some extent, but basically moving in a healthy, upward direction. In fact, in July, 2014 we witnessed a phenomenal average price for that month of $573.6K, which tops even the highest average price over the last ten years, which was in 2007 at $516K. That average price in July was achieved in spite of a low foreclosure sale at $114K (albeit above the asking of $99K), but was hugely helped by the sale of two Candlewood Lake waterfront properties, one a...

The test is offered to all residents of New Fairfield and Sherman; the cost is $40.00 and the results will be available in a week. .   In our sparsely suburban, quasi rural area of Connecticut for the most part we enjoy well water. While it might be less convenient than the typical city water that is readily piped in to our homes, the taste of the water is so much better, without any hint of chlorine! We do however need to be mindful of potential contaminants th...

Lisa was wonderful with the sale of my home. She is a smart professional, who is committed to getting the job done regardless of the circumstances. I recommend her to all my friends. In fact, she recently closed on my best friend's home, and she also has a new listing with one of my employees. In today's market, Lisa is by far the best realtor to have working for you and your family. She is great!
