The Gilead Congregational Church Annual Chicken BBQ will be held Sat, July 12 from 5-7pm. The BBQ tickets are $10 for adults (half chicken) and $5 for children 12 and under 9quarter chicken). The chicken will be prepared by members of Gilead Congregational Church. The menu also includes potato salad, Shady Glen coleslaw, cranberry sauce, rolls, ice cream and beverages. The Hebron Treasure Hunt/Car Rallye will take place Sat June 28, at RHAM High School, 85 all St, Hebron. This will be a tour of various historic sights of the town. See places that you may never have seen before. To win a prize, cars must visit all of the required sights in the correct order and closest to the correct time. This is not a race but will be driven at normal speeds, so that anyone can play. The prizes will be a complete oil change donated by Hebron Quick Lube on Wall St and a VIP card from Hebron car Wash on Liberty Dr. Registration for the hunt will be from 9-9:30am. The RHAM Youth Lacross program will hold a learn-to-play program next month for any boys or girls going into grades 3-8. CPR & First Aid Training sessions are coming up at AHM Youth and Family Services. CPR training will be held On Tues July 15 and First Aid training on Thurs July 17, both starting at 6pm at the AHM Community Building, 25 Pendelton Ave, Hebron. It is necessary to have a current CPR certification in order to attend the First Aid Class. The cost is $70 for both evenings, or $40 for one evening. The Hebron Lions will sell half price tickets to September's Hebron Harvest Fair for one day olnly at next weekend's Hebron Lions Annual Picnic & Fireworks. The $5 tickets will be available this one day only, Sat June 28 from 2-9:30pm at the Lions Fairgrounds on Route 85, Hebron. This is half price of the normal $10 admission price for Sat or Sun at the fair. Admission to the Picnic & Fireworks is required ($10 per carload). Rain date is Sunday, June 29.

The Amston Lake Improvement Assoctiation will hold a Spring Fling Flea Market and Tricentennial Celebration Sat June 7 from 8am-2pm on the Berglund Green (across from the beach) in Hebron, CT. There will be a tag sale, arts, crafts, festival food for sale, music from local musicians and a Larry Zimmerman book singing. There will also be a sand sculpture contest for kids and adults. There will be a historical tour of the lake and a chance to see Hebron's restored fire truck and donate to the cause. Hebron Nursery School, a nonprofit organization, is collecting old cell phones and old ink jet cartridges for recycling, as a fundraiser to benefit the school. Before donating phones, make sure the phones power up, and are no longer in service and the memory is cleared. The school is not responsible for information stored in the memory of phones donated. A drop box for phones and cartridges is located at Ted's IGA on Main St (Route 66), Hebron, CT.

Hebron Interfaith Human Services (HIHS) is putting together packets for the homeless, and the organization is seeking donations. Each packet will contain items such as: sleeping bag, blanket, pillow, flashlight, warm clothes-including sweatshirt, rain coat, socks, gloves and hat, can opener, paper goods such as plates, napkins, plastic utensils and toilet paper. Donations of any or all of the items will be accepted. They can be dropped off at HIHS, located at 20 Pendleton Dr, Hebron, CT, from 9am-3:30pm, Monday thru Thursday. HIHS is best known for its food pantry, but individuals and families also receive help with medical needs, budget counseling and resume writing, fuel assistance, and referrals to other sources of assistance. St. Peter's Episcopal Church, located at 30 Church St (Route 85) , Hebron, CT, will host its 5th annual ladies Tea and Tues on sat April 26 beginning at 2pm. The program will feature harpist Allyn Bryson Donath on the Celtic harp. She will perform from 2-4pm, during high tea, which will feature sandwiches, scones with cream and jam and desserts. At 4:15pm, the 25 voice A Capella musical group Take Note! will provide harmonies in St. Peter's sanctuary with a variety of  pop, jazz, gospel and folk songs. Tickets are available in advance or at the door for 415 per person. Tickets for girls 12 and under are $10. The Annual PTA Children's Book Swap will take place on Saturday, March 29 in the Community Room at the Douglas Library. Drop off children's books for any age between 10-11am and receive a ticket for each book. Return with the tickets between 11:30-1pm  to trade for "new" books that other children are swapping. Reflective House Signs Going UpThe reflective house signs members of the Hebron Volunteer Fire Department sell to residents are going up in price.Due to increased costs from their manufacturer the signs will cost $15 each, starting Sept. 1.
