The Bijou Theatre is the oldest building in the United States that was built and continues to operate as a movie house and theatre. Downtown Bridgeport has become the "go to" place over the past few years in Greater Bridgeport.  The City has long focused on revitalizing it's downtown area, with the belief that if you "build it, they will come."  This has in fact been the case with new restaurants, cafes, theatres, art galleries, and events.
