Woodland Park is a mountain town, if you will, located about 30 minutes West of downtown Colorado Springs.  With all the amenities of a city this community has everything you could want (multiple grocery stores, hardware stores, restaurants, movie theaters and more.  You can find great homes for sale here on a city lot or on acreage outside of town. February 2013 shows the active market continuing in the Woodland Park Real Estate market for single family homes.   There were 139 total single family home listings for the month of February 2013.  Of these: 85 are current properties for sale with list prices ranging from a $46,000 to $1,999,950. Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins' foundation donated the zamboni last year for the Woodland Park ice rink. The rink is owned by the City of Woodland Park, but the ice is totally manned by volunteers. This weekend I listed a house and found out that although I had multiple keys none seemed to want to work the front door. Several keys worked another door in the house so getting in wasn't a problem.  The problem was, however, how best to present the house.  In this particular property coming through the front door makes a huge difference in the tone that is set.  The next step, was getting a key that would work.     I called the Lock Shop this morning and Wayne answered the phone himself.  With several appointments already scheduled for this house today I asked if it would be possible to meet him at noon. "No problem" he replied.  He had just gotten there when I drove up. He was incredibly responsive, re-keyed the lock and gave me 4 keys so that I could have a couple for spares if need...

Even though I like my downtown Colorado Springs home, I enjoy spending time out in Woodland Park, Colorado.  The elevation is higher there, so the temperatures run about 10 degrees cooler than Colorado Springs.  Plus, Woodland Park is a very pretty area and the drive to and from Woodland Park is spectacular.  Since Woodland Park is only 18 miles to the west of Colorado Springs, it is a very easy drive.   I frequently stop at a little convenience store/liquor store on HWY 24, the name of which I can't recall, for a cup of coffee.   Maybe if I wasn't in the need of coffee, I might remember the name.    I always enjoy this view from their parking lot.  Colorado:  See It.  Experience It.  Live It.
