What A Difference a Few Days Makes...Winter is Coming   We had three days of wintry weather to remind us of what season we are heading into. Snow fell in Cedaredge, but didn't stick to the ground for very long. We actually had more rain than snow. Of course Grand Mesa received a lot of snow, but I haven't heard an official snowfall report yet. What a difference a few days can make. On Tuesday this tree was still stunning with it's bright yellow leaves against the blue sky.      Our extended fall was really nice, and we were treated to some beautiful fall colors for many weeks...much longer than usual. Now with the colder temperatures, the fall color is gone. It's amazing what a difference a few days and drop in low temperatures can do. We got down to about 15 degrees in town last night.... 11/16/2014

Chapel of the Cross and Pioneer Town in Fall   The weather has been absolutely beautiful this fall. There are still a lot of leaves on the trees and the daytime temperatures are in the 50s and 60s. That will soon change. I guess we have a winter storm coming our way later this week.  So now is a great time to get out and enjoy what's left of fall. Take a walk through Pioneer Town and Chapel of the Cross. The park like setting is still reveling in fall and it's beautiful. The Tenant Wouldn't Let Me See The HouseMost of the time there isn't an issue showing a house with tenants living in it, but every now and then you run across some issues. As a seller you will want to make sure you have reasonable tenants in the house you are trying to sell. Here's one story I have to share of not being able to see and properly show a house because of the tenant. This isn't a case of the tenant denying access to the house. Actually he was very welcoming...too welcoming. That was the problem. I wanted to see this house as badly as my buyers. I hadn't seen it, and I wanted to know about it. The tenant met us out in the yard. He greeted us pleasantly enough and opened the front door and held it open for us to go in. 2014 Halloween Things to do in Cedaredge, CO Of course there will be trick or treating on Friday night. That will be happening all over town.  I'm really looking forward to the haunted house at The Pondy. This is the one and only bar in this small town. The owners and employees are going to turn the dance hall half of the building into a haunted house on Friday and Saturday night. This is open to everyone in town...no age limit, but children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. It sounds like they have a scary good time in store for us. The haunting and bewitching starts at 7PM. For those under aged patrons, the haunted house closes at 9PM. Otherwise for everyone else, the fun goes on until midnight.  The Pondy really is haunted. Here's Another Twist on Legalized Marijuana and Home OwnershipWho would have thought that growing marijuana would interfere with ham radio operators. I guess it's true. This is the latest news out of Western Colorado. It seems that ham radio operators are experiencing static when a certain type of grow light is used. This issue was recently brought up at a Cedaredge Town Trustee meeting. One amateur radio operator says the static problem can be experienced from as far as half a mile away. Radio operators say they can even find out where a marijuana grow operation is by honing in on the signal. While this might not be a big deal in sparsely populated areas, it is something to think about in densely populated areas. The 2014 Cedaredge High School Marching Band does it Again...Another State Title What a great group of talented young people that make up the 2014 Cedaredge High School Marching Band. A lot of credit must go to the instructor, too, because this year, the band won it's fourth straight state championship title. Cedaredge is a division 1A school. In the last ten years, the band has won an incredible seven championship titles.  This championship is well deserved. These kids have put in some long hours practicing and now they reap the reward. Way to go Cedaredge High School Band.  The championship was held at Sport's Authority Stadium in Parker, CO on Monday. Friday Foto...Gotta Enjoy the Fall Colors While You Still Can Fall has to be my favorite time of the year. I like the cooler temperatures and the winding down of my gardening season. By this time of the year, I'm tired of weeding and watering, and I'm looking forward to a break. The changing leaves are probably my most favorite part of the fall.  The higher country doesn't have much color left, but in and around Cedaredge, there is still plenty of fall color to enjoy. This is the view out the back door of my office. I've been enjoying it for over a week, and today I thought I would share it.    The predominately green tree really does have some yellow and red tints. 2014 Cedaredge Dog Jog and Petpalooza Mark your calendar for November 1st. The Dog Jog is celebrating it's 3rd year, and it's bigger and better than ever. This year the fun happens at Aspen Trails Campground at 10AM. Friday Foto...the Different Moods of Grand Mesa I love sharing photos of my area. Nature offers me so many opportunities to get a good picture. Really it's not me...it's all nature and the beauty of my area. We've had some unsettled weather and that means clouds. There's still enough fall color left on Grand Mesa to make this picture interesting.    If you aren't familiar with this area...the Grand Mesa is the prominent feature on the Delta County skyline. It's the world's largest flat top mountain and it stretches east through Delta County for about 40 miles. There are over 300 lakes on the mesa. It's a great place for just about any kind of outdoor activity and it's loaded with wildlife...elk, deer, bears, moose.
