Pheasant Run Subdivision...Affordable Homes Delta County, CO Pheasant Run is located between Cedaredge and Delta. This makes it an easy commute to either town and the smaller towns in between. Most of the lots are around a half acre so there's plenty of space for a garden or any other hobby that works well outside.  Most of the homes are single story. This is a great place to call home, and that is backed up by the fact that there are no houses currently listed.  Here's a look at the Pheasant Run real estate information for the last year: Three homes have sold.  The prices ranged from $129,900 to $159,900.  The average sold price is $139,933. The median sold price is $130,000. The average days on market was 217. All of the sales are arms length/fair market sales. No REO properties were ...

OK...The Jury is Still Deliberating, but I'm Going to Overrule Them After spending three days with Dog, I can't find myself living without him. He's amazing. It almost broke my heart on Sunday when I gave him a toy. He looked like a kid that had never received a Christmas present. He gutted the thing in just a few hours. I'm letting him keep the stuffing in his cage as a souvenir. He's still chewing on the hide. That dog even caused me to get my lazy butt out of bed early this morning and to take a few laps around the park with him. It kind of reminded me of high school and those early morning cross country practices. I didn't run, but I walked really fast. Dog is getting the hang of leash manners and we worked on those, too.  I had to update this situation, because I'm still getting qu...

2nd Annual Cedaredge Shelter Crock Pots for Critters...Another Big Success For the second year in a row, the Cedaredge Shelter hosted another grand fundraiser with the Crock Pot for Critters event. The volunteers worked for weeks collecting donations from local businesses and residents. A special thanks goes out to those businesses and people who donated their time, money and services to make this event another big success.  My good friend, Sue Shelton, worked hard selling tickets and collecting prizes and donations. Sue received over a $1,000 in prize and monetary donations. She also sold over 65 event tickets. Sue is a very special person to do what she does for the animals.  What is really amazing about Crock Pot for Critters is the wonderful food. I thought it would be a lot of bean...

Am I Getting a Dog? The Jury is Still Deliberating It's a jury of two, and I don't think we are going to have an answer today. They are quite upset at the having their happy, quiet home disturbed.  Many of you read about the dog I found, Monday night, running loose behind my office. This poor guy was treated badly and now needs a new home. I'm hoping it will be mine, but I have two others to consider. It's the feline contingency that will have the last say.  Aslan and Chloe have had things their way for a year a half. They don't want anything to change. Life is good. Today I really turned their world upside down when I brought a dog into the house.  Here's Chloe. If I could read her mind, she's probably saying...You brought WHAT into this house? Make it go away. I think she will be the ...

The End of a Long Work Week and Another Cedaredge Sunset It was one of those action packed weeks, and for that I'm thankful. I actually received three leads off of my blog over the last week. That's terrific. All of the action wore me out. I'm about ready to fall asleep at my desk.  I'm also thankful that I might have the weekend off. There's a lot going on in town, and it might be fun to get out and socialize. The animal shelter is having it's annual fundraiser. If you are looking for something to do outdoors, the weather has been beautiful. The warm temperatures should carry through the weekend. There's the Sled Dog Races on Grand Mesa. There's also the Ice Fishing Derby at Island Lake.  I'm looking forward to spending time outdoors...even if I only get as far as my patio. It will be ...

Here's an Update on the Dog I Found Yesterday Many of you read yesterday's post about the dog I found behind my office. I called the Cedaredge Animal Shelter today to find out how the dog was doing, and if an owner had come forward. The volunteer, who answered the phone, told me the dog was gone, and the owner had more than likely come to get it. I let it go. This wasn't meant to be. I just knew this lovely animal had to have an owner that cared about him. Now I know I was wrong.  A couple of hours later, I get a call from Michelle, the animal control officer. Apparently there was a breakdown in communication and the dog is still at the shelter. He was gone for a while today, because she took him to the vet to get the wounds on his ear treated. He isn't seriously hurt, but the cuts are ...

Look What I Found Today Just when I was wondering what to write about tonight, this handsome guy walks into my life. He just wandered into my life from out of the dark nowhere. I know that sounds a bit romantic, but it's true. He came out of the darkness and right to me. I've kind of been looking for someone like him. He's tall, dark and handsome and so cute.  I think he found me so much as I found him. OK...I know it's a dog, but I love dogs. This guy is a beauty, and he's already on the tall side and not even full grown. As much as I wanted to take him home with me...I didn't. I called the local police and they put me in touch with the animal control officer. It was after hours so I was lucky to get this situation taken care of.  This dog is injured. It's not serious, but his neck has...

Super Bowl Sunday with Clara Last football season I wrote about watching almost every Denver football game with my football buddy Clara. This season I didn't get to see too many games with her, and I felt bad about that. Clara is now 82 years old. I decided I couldn't let this Super Bowl go by without spending time with Clara. I turned down a few game party invitations with good food and beer to spend the game with her. I don't regret that. We had a great time.   While Clara isn't doing well physically, she is still very sharp. She really impresses me. We had fun watching the commercials, although she doesn't understand some of them, and they move too fast for her. That's why I'm there. I explain them to her. It's not her mind...it's a generational thing. She doesn't understand the new ...

4 B's Brewery Coming Soon to Cedaredge Everyone is anxiously awaiting the opening of the new brew pud in town. Well we won't have much longer to wait. I was given a tour of the building last week, and the remodel is coming along nicely. This is going to be a neat place to visit and hang out with friends.  Ok the remodel is well underway and nearing completion...so what's next? The owners are waiting on final licensing approval from the state. They anticipate it will be about another eight weeks before they open.  Revolution Brewery out of Paonia will be brewing beer on site. They have some fine beers and that includes some seasonal blends that are really tasty. The brewery will also have a light food menu and serve sodas. Revolution also makes some great sodas with locally grown fruit. ...

The Silos of Cedaredge and the Bar I Ranch There are three silos that once stood tall on the Bar I Ranch in Cedaredge, CO. They used to be filled with chopped corn stalks to feed the sheep. Now the silos still stand tall and they are still on the site of the old Bar I Ranch. While the ranch is now gone, it has left behind a legacy. Pioneer Town fills part of the space that use to be the Bar I Ranch.  The silos mark the entrance to Pioneer Town. These aren't your typical silos. What makes them unique is the stacked wood construction and multi sides. Two of them are nine sided and one is eleven sided. The inside of them was lined with concrete, and that's part of the reason they are still here today.  These silos are extremely rare. Most wooden silos don't last that long, because they are...

The Friends of Cedaredge Animal Control considers this a major fundraiser. I was at last year's event, and it was a lot of fun. It seemed like most of the town showed up. 2015 Grand Mesa Sled Dog Races Information Get ready for yet another weekend of winter fun on Grand Mesa with the annual sled dog races. This year the races are on February 7th and 8th. This particular race is the highest sled dog race in the world. Elevations are over 10,000 feet above sea level.  Here you can see all types of racing. There are 4, 6 and 8 dog team races and races for the kids and their dog's, too. Skijoring is also on the list of events. This is an event where one or two dogs run with a person on skis. It almost looks like the dog is pulling the skier down the trail, but both the skier and the dogs work together to try to finish first.  Even though the Grand Mesa is called the world's largest flat top mountain...it's not really flat. The racers love the varied up and d...

Another Celestial Moment from Western Colorado Driving home has gotten me some great photographs this week. Tonight I pulled over to take this picture.    The full moon is almost here. I loved the mix of the colors in the sky, and the tree branches add perspective.  This was another serendipitous moment for me. I was racking my brain to figure out what to write about tonight. I didn't want to do a market report, and my other ideas seemed weak. Then along comes Mr. Moon, and I get offered this shot to share.  I hope everyone is having a great weekend.    I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any rea...

The Best Sunset Reflection...Serendipity Sunday I have never seen a sunset reflection quite like this one. The reflection actually went straight up to the sky as the sun was setting behind the mountains. This was really an amazing site.  This was truly a serendipitous moment. I happened to be driving home from a New Year's party, today, when I saw this reflection. It snowed fairly hard for the first part of the day, and around the time the sun was setting, the storm lifted and created this wonderful scene.  I should add...I know it's not Sunday, but it feels like one due to the holiday.  I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I also love to share my expertise in thi...

I Love a Good View...Serendipity Sunday If you open your eyes, you never know what you might see around you. I love where I live because Mother Nature offers so many photo opportunities. Today was no different. The clouds around the mountains really put on a nice display. I took many pictures and it was difficult to select which one to use.  The scenery is always the same, but yet it can vary so much from day due to the weather. I hope you enjoy this picture.  I've lived on Colorado's Western Slope for over 24 years. I love this area and all it has to offer, and I enjoy sharing what I know about my home. As a REALTOR®, I also love to share my expertise in this area as well. If you need any real estate information for Montrose County, or Delta County, Colorado...please give me a call.
