I went to the Rocky Mountain Air Show at the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (formerly known as the Broomfield Airport) in Broomfield Colorado for the first time last year, and it immediately became my most anticipated local summer event. We went to the Friday night events, and it was perfect - avoided the heat of the day and watched the amazing acrobatics against the backdrop of the sun setting behind the peaks of the Rockies.  Must be a great view from on high! The 2013 Airshow is on August 16-18, I recommend you get your tickets now!  Kids 5 years old and under are free.  You can buy a ticket for just Friday night, Saturday, Sunday, or the entire weekend.
