The number of home resales plunged by 1.4 million units in July, according to the National Association of Realtors®' Existing Home Sales report. It's a drop of 27 percent from June; single-family home resales are at the report's lowest levels since May 1999. Furthermore, because of the sharp drop in sales volume, home inventories are spiking. This also, produces a drop in Denver Mortgage applications. Homes for sale nationwide fell just short of 4 million units in July and, at the current sales paces, it would take 12.5 months for the existing inventory to be absorbed. Home supply was just 8.9 months in June. Colorado apartments cost more in second quarter Colorado apartments cost more in quarter – Apartment vacancies dropped and rents rose in Colorado during the second quarter, according to a Colorado Division of Housing report released yesterday. The state’s average apartment vacancy rate decreased to 6.2% from 9.1 in the second period of 2009. It was basically flat from 6.6% in this year’s first quarter. ~The perfect ending for a perfect day~ I had a closing yesterday on some new construction in the Villas at Wheatlands.  Suburban Homes was the builder.  It went smoothly.  After wards, we went back to the property, got her key and set the lock.  Then we decided on a celebratory drink at Southlands Mall.  The traffic was a little crazy.  I had forgotten about the Friday night free concert.  The parking lot was just packed.  We went to the restaurant and got our drinks and an appetizer.  After wards we went and listened to the concert.  The Nacho Men were playing.  They sang quite a few songs from the '80's; from groups like Chicago, Michael Jackson, Earth, Wind & Fire and even some Neil Diamond.  The crowd was both young and old, and even some dogs.  There was some face painting for the ... 08/21/2010

~Speechless Sunday~ Arapahoe county Colorado offers many fun and exciting things to do for all ages.  On Saturday, I was invited to go to my neighbor's daughter's soccer tournament.  She is playing in the competitve 10 and under league.  Yesterday was an absolutely gorgeous day in the low 80s with lots of sun and a cool breeze.  So being outside was a pleasure.  The tournament was held near the Dove Valley center.  The girls, their team name, The Cougars, won their first game on Friday 1-0, and their second game, the one I watched on Saturday, they won 3-0.  I am hoping they do well today. It's crazy how much energy these kids have.  It was a fun and relaxing day.  I am glad I was able to experience this and will probably go again in the future!          08/15/2010

Fact About chewing gum and taken test?   A recent study suggest that those students who chewed gum while studying and taking test had a 3 percent (3%) increase in test scores than their peers who did not chew gum!   So chewing gum though may not a foolproof plan if you haven't truly studied the material, an informal study by a Cornell University marketing professor has shown that chewing gum offers improved memory and concentration that may improve your test-taking abilities!  In my opinion chewing gum may reduce stress, and help us think more!   This is just FYI only!
