Cool Day and Cool Cars in Monterey CaOn our recent trip to Monterey Ca to beat the Stanislaus County Heat we got to see lots of very cool classic cars.  It's Car Week In Monterey.  The festivities run through the end of this week (August 21,2022).  We saw classic cars displayed in front of the convention center and in the plaza between the Portola Hotel and Old Fisherman's Wharf.  There were also people driving around downtown Monterey in some very cool, very expensive cars. It looked like all the high end cars were represented this year.  We saw cars from Rolls Royce, Ferrari, Bentley, Porsche, Mercedes, Bugatti and several others. It's 105° in Stanislaus County - Head west to cool off!The summer in Stanislaus County and all of the Central Valley of California can get hot. We are currently in the middle of several days of 100° (and more) temperatures. On days like this it's best to find some place air conditioned or hang out at the pool. However there are other options when you live in  Stanislaus County. You can always head west to cool off.  It's a trip my wife and I will make often in the summer time.  Heading over to the coast is always an enjoyable break from the valley heat.  An easy day trip west to places like, San Francisco, Half Moon Bay, Big Sur, Monterey and Carmel will do the trick.  It's less than 100 miles away but it can be 30° to 40° cooler.  We made the trip yesterday while it was 104° here in ou... 08/18/2022
