Since we were in the area anyway, what the hey, it seemed like a good idea to plan a trip to La Casa Grande, otherwise known as the main house at Hearst Castle in San Simeon. We grabbed a quick breakfast at The Oaks Hotel in Paso Robles and headed downtown to shop at a few stores before driving 45 minutes to Hearst Castle for our tour.We pulled into the parking lot and quickly found a spot. Initially, Barb and I had tickets to see Mickey Dolenz in Sacramento last spring at The Crest Theatre. But suddenly the show was canceled without any reason. Our money refunded. Curious about that, I searched online to see what was up. Throwback Thursday: Morro Rock in Morro Bay, CAMorro Rock is a 581 foot volcanic plug just offshore from Morro Bay, CA. It is located in the entrance of Morrow Bay Harbor. There is a causeway which connect it with the shore, hence it is effectively a tied island.My parents came to visit us and every time they came, my father had an agenda to see Nature in California.
