Register staff writer Erin Welch reports that the Yorba Linda Lemonade Grand Stand will help victims of the Freeway Complex fire. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 22), more than 85 volunteers will help sell lemonade at 15 stands throughout the city. There will be stands at Bank of America on Main Street, Bank of America on Yorba Linda Boulevard, Citibank in the Albertsons shopping center on Yorba Linda Boulevard, Vons in East Lake Village Shopping Center, HomeGoods on Yorba Linda Boulevard, the U.S. Post Office, Stater Bros. on Yorba Linda Boulevard and major cross streets in Yorba Linda and East Lake. November 15, 2008 will be known as a very sad day for many in Yorba Linda, CA. Fire ravaged through the hills of Yorba Linda and as of last count at least 70 homes were destroyed. Approximately 40,000 poeple were evacuated and major streets were closed for most of the day. Some of the homes that burnt down seemed like impossibilites as several of them were in the interior of the city and not on the brushy hillsides near Chino State park. It was very eerie day as tens of thousand of people were trying to evacuate the city under a cloud of heavy smoke and whipping flames from the hillsides. The city will rebound as it always does, but many families have lost their dreamhomes that took life times to acquire. My heart goes out to those that lost there homes in this very perilous day in Yorb... 11/16/2008

I sit here watching TV and seeing Yorba Linda Real Estate burn.  It is just devastating!!  There are 5 or 6 homes burning on Blue Ridge and Merryweather while winds blow the fires.  These are 4000-5000 square foot homes on 1/2 acre - 1 acre lots.  Multi-million dollar homes that are gone in 20 minutes.  Just amazing...stay tuned!! 11/15/2008
