Most of you who read my blog know that I am a Real Estate Virtual Assistant and that I market / brand myself as "The 10 Hour VA" and that I believe in showing "The Value" that I can provide to you in just 10 hours per month.  I do not want my clients counting hours or pennies when working with me, I want them to focus on what I can accomplish for them in 10 hours every month.  I want to build that ongoing relationship, I want to show you the value and have a vested interest in your success as a real estate professional.  To describe my goal better, here's a paragraph from the home page on my website: My concept is that clients who partner with me for 10 hours per month, on retainer, have a clear outlined value that they can expect to receive.  I'm not going to punch a time clock, I am n...

A few weeks ago I had the chance to participate for the first time in Vistans ROC!  It is a volunteer project in its 10th year in Vista, California.  Each year, a neighborhood is selected by the City of Vista that needs some sprucing up.  This year, twenty-seven homes benefited from the help of OVER EIGHT HUNDRED volunteers!  The volunteers painted the exterior of the homes, landscaped, removed trash.  Volunteers came from local service organizations, business groups, retail stores, schools, and churches. In this photo, several members from the North San Diego Association of Realtors (in the blue aprons) worked on the house in the background.  The ones in pink tee shirts are also affiliated with the local Women's Council of Realtors.  It is amazing to see a team of 800 volunteers come ...

With the year's first Santa Ana getting ready to blow in this weekend, fire hazzards are on the rise.  There was the fire here in Vista yesterday on the corner of E. Vista Way and Foothill which was fully put out within a matter of hours.  Now today there is the fire burning over by Camp Pendleton...which from my house looks like it is actually two fires combining, but the news doesn't seem to portray that. Remember to keep the 100 feet defensible space around your home, especially at the height of this fire season.  Here is a link to more information on that. Here is the photo from the driveway of my home in the Warmlands area of Vista at about 5:00pm today...those aren't clouds...it's smoke.

Mt Calavera & Vista Now, we're talking... aaahhhh Vista. This is where I live, and I love this town. It's about 7 miles from the coast; but where we live, we get a nice onshore breeze to keep us cool for most of the year. There are some valleys in Vista where it can get fairly warm, but still our temps are mild for the most part. Lot's of beautiful rolling hills here in Vista, and a sense of rural living in many areas. We've got beautiful horse ranches, great schools, stunning neighborhoods and plenty of agriculture to boot.     Vista is growing and changing everyday! The Vista Business Park is forecasted to grow, and as a result, add thousands of employment opportunities to our community. Our city draws people from surrounding areas to visit our parks, cultural events and historical si...

Having just received a call from my client's lender, stating that their particular loan program was going to expire by 7/15, requiring them to come up with an additional 2% down they don't have, I am compelled to find them a home they can close escrow on by that time.  Yesterday, I reported market statistics regarding the market in Oceanside, CA 92054 for detached homes priced under $500K.  There were a total of 108, of which 23 were bank owned, 12 were privately owned and an inordinate 55 were short sales.  Today, I am reporting market statistics for Vista, CA 92081, 92083 & 92084 for 4 Bedroom, detached homes under $450K.  An MLS search revealed a total of 59 detached homes, of which 10 are bank owned, only 6 are privately owned and a whopping 43 are short sales. Short sales are typic...

Tommy Thompson Yesterday I had the privilege to attend a memorial service for a Marine. Colonel Robert A. 'Tommy' Thompson was my fiance's Uncle. He was 92. I never had the opportunity to meet The Colonel. My loss. By all indications, he had a spectacular career, a wonderful life and was the kind of stand-up guy that defined out nation during some of it's proudest moments. Raised in Pennington Gap, VA., Tommy ran away and joined the Marines right after his 18th birthday in 1934, just days after his older brother had been killed in a mine accident - the only job opportunity that awaited Tommy in the dirt poor Appalachians during those days. Three years later, while serving as personal bodyguard to President Roosevelt at Warm Springs, GA., Tommy met my fiance's Aunt Lois who, like Roosev...

Vista will create more jobs and add more people than most San Diego County cities over the next twenty years.  These stats come from SANDAG (The San Diego Association of Governments).  Yet, the number of housing units will not be able to keep up with demand.Vista has some of the best buying opportunities in Southern California, in my opinion.  There are many beautiful homes on half an acre or more.  As Vista becomes more and more popular, I think the constraints on its future housing supply and its projected job growth will help transform the community.
