Ponte Winery in Temecula CA~ Just 1 Hour from Carlsbad ~ I had business reasons for being in Temecula yesterday and we decided to enjoy lunch at Ponte Winery, a favorite of ours for years.   Temecula’s wine country offers about 50 wineries barely 1 hour from Carlsbad with non-rush hour traffic. This wine region has grown over the years with many new wineries added since we moved here in 2005. The area is known for its varietals, and growing certain grapes like Sangiovese, Zinfandel, and Syrah, among others.   Multiple wineries have added spas, inns, and restaurants to their facilities.
