Mount Shasta is the second highest peak in the Cascades and the fifth highest in California at 14,170 feet above sea level. It is unique because it is not a part of a mountain range; it stands alone and can be seen for about 140 miles from the southern valley floor. It was declared a National Natural Landmark in December 1976. View Larger Map
