The Santa Monica, CA Single Family Market Trend Report is published...The Inventory has decreased and for us this has been a problem for some time, as you can see it has not improved. IF we compare it to 2015 yes there is improvement, but if we compare it to 2016 the graph tells a different story. There is some good news in spite of the fewer listings we still managed to have some fantastic closed sales compared to the previous two years.  Now I know I do not need to show the next graph you can already guess the Days On Market (DOM) will show you how fast the Single Family Homes are selling in Santa Monica, CA  As you can see as soon as the property hits the market it is virtually gone instantly. Santa Monica Canine Surfer Dude  Before we moved to Carlsbad we used to visit our daughter, who was at USC in LA, several times a year, and a popular hangout was the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Lots of shopping, a variety of restaurants, and some terrific people watching incuding the many street performers made it a fun and entertaining place to visit for an afternoon. The tradition of visiting the 3rd Street Promenade continued after we moved to Carlsbad, and when visiting our daughter in LA in 2007 we spied this Chihuahua all dressed up and ready to hang ten at the nearby beach in Santa Monica.

I am working with a client from Santa Monica, CA who is in the process of Feng Shui-ing his bedroom. It's usually suggested to use pink in the bedroom because it associates with the energy of "partnership." It's important to note my client's bedroom is also located in the wealth section of his home. This creates a double connection between partnership and wealth. Living in a world with abbreviations. First in fairness to disclosure, one of my pet peeves is carrying on communications peppered with abbreviations in writing emails or in blog posts or just in conversation, I find it ‘rude’, ‘condescending’ and most of all ‘annoying’.Every profession has their ‘short cuts’, Real Estate has more than its share. Here in California we have so many forms that I find it is in bad form when people constantly communicate in abbreviations. The Santa Monica, CA Condominium Market Trend Report is published. There has been a great deal of interest how the market fares in Santa Monica, CA partly because there is Rent Control and for a number of Renters it seemed like there was no incentive to buy a Condominium. As time went by the rents remained artificially low but the price of Condominiums has increased a great deal.This is a very interesting Trend it is polar opposite to the rest of the Greater Los Angeles Median Sales Price Trends. Fuddruckers: in Santa Monica, CA 90403??  Wow a blast from the past (for me). When I lived in Boston, MA, which was about 20 years ago or so, there was this great Hamburger Place that once in a while I would frequent and was called Fuddruckers. Once we re-located to Los Angeles I have not seen one here.  Hence I wrote it off as a Regional Burger Establishment I will miss and will have to find another one, which will be similar or better.Needless to say I have found a handful of them over the years and have been enjoying eating at them, on the rare occasion that I indulge in a Hamburger.Anyway, the other day I was driving in Santa Monica and I looked to my left and noticed the sign:FUDDRUCKERS, Wow blast from the past. I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween celebration! This was my first time celebrating Halloween in California and it was a great treat. Like New York City, Los Angeles closes off a few blocks on Santa Monica Blvd for various which becomes home to various musical stages, food trucks and a platform for people to showcase their unique costumes. This is called "Halloween Carnaval." It's free to attend and word to the wise,... if you plan on attending, arrive early because parking will require great patience in finding a none full lot or free spot.
