There are various resources to choose from in searching for a job today.  Most can be found on the Internet with a simple Google or Yahoo search.   Most job seekers begin by searching online and devote most of their time and energy daily searching on line for that "dream job/career" or in some cases any job for that matter! Most job seekers use the internet as there primary resource in seeking employment yet statistically it is one of the least effective as now thousands have access to job markets throughout the nation.  You could be competing with hundreds of local and out of state candidates for the same job listing.  Employers are inundated with hundreds of resumes and will weed out most candidates.  To make matters worse, you have to sort out the real job offers from the fake ads tr...

The Santa Clarita credit rating got a nice present from the Standard & Poors organization, which rates much of corporate America's financial health - kind of like your FICO score! The city's credit rating went from a not to Shabby AA-, to an excellent AA. BELOW IS A COPY OF A MARKET UPDATE I RECENTLY SENT TO OUR CLIENTS:  Dear Client,             In response to a recent survey of 75 clients, I am going to give quarterly updates on the state of the residential resale and residential rental markets in Santa Clarita and the surrounding areas. These updates are simply my opinion of the current market based on my studies of the current and past market reports for this area. I promise to never "sugar coat" anything I say. I will shoot straight, the way I see it.             As you may well know, the current resale market in Santa Clarita is in shambles. There are still a few optimistic reports trickling out, mostly from associations whose memberships stand to gain from a positive consumer attitude. Most reports are painting a "doom and gloom" ...

We have not had a major earthquake in southern California since 1994. So is now a good time to look into getting earthquake coverage? In California we have something called the CEA, which stands for California Earthquake Authority. All of the major insurance companies share the responsibility of insuring homeowners for earthquake damage. An earthquake can be devastating, so investigate the options and talk to your agent.

When was the last time a thirteen year old kid taught you a lesson in faith? Logan called in a local radio station to share a story of personal loss. His message is powerful and insightful for someone his age. He is a shining example of God's love. This is the kind of kid we all would hope to raise. Listen in Need I say more... "Put me in coach I'm ready to play" sound familiar it's something uttered daily on every playing field in America today.  However the coaches at Life's Building Blocks are helping parents prepare their kids for the big game.  No it's not the Super bowl, nor the World Series, this game is much bigger than that, this game is life!.  These coaches are not like any other coach either.  They are Character coaches and it's time we get back to the basics.  The fundamentals which will be the foundation of how we play the game.  Without these core values we could be suffering the same fate as a number of recent ball players who have "cheated" or fallen from grace.  How do we teach our kids how to deal with moral issues when we have so many poor role models in sports, music and entertainment that...

Did I list my home for sale at the right price? How can I be certain?  Some homeowners in today's market in California can't help but think that they are "Giving the farm away"  How do I know for certain that the agent I listed with today was not looking for a quick sale? I know sales are slow so are they low balling me with this list price to sell it quicker?  The house down the street sold for more and my home is so much better than theirs! Why do different agents have different list prices? The agent I met earlier in the week stated they could sell it for more?  Who's right?  Should I list with the highest list price quoted and negotiate down?  That's what everybody else does right? Is that the best strategy in this market? These are the stubborn questions, doubts, fears, we all face w...

11/2007I recently came across a few banners on the (5) freeway overpasses and one here on Newhall Ranch Road which expresses my sentiments and I am certain most of us who reside here in Santa Clarita. I would like to personally thank all fire, police, city, government officials and everyday citizens for their efforts in saving peoples lives, homes, and in some cases livelihoods.  If not for all of their efforts combined the devastation we experienced here in Santa Clarita could have been much greater than we experienced.  Learn about one of these local heroes Jim Tindell by clicking here Heads up Equestrian therapyThis is a list of local heroes here in Santa Clarita.  This list grows daily so check back often.  This of course does not cover every hero in Santa Clarita, some are Mom's, ...

The Home Depot in Santa Clarita has everything you need to do small jobs around your home or office. I buy most of what I need there because the sales people are so friendly and helpful. I usually go to the Home Depot on Soledad Canyon, but if I am working further north I go to the newer store on Newhall Ranch Road. This is a pantry I built for a customer. I purchased all of the materials at Home Depot.
