I am Tony Lewis and was born in Detroit , Michigan in 1950.  It was a different time.  I learned first hand about white flight as all of the white family's that could, m moved to the suburbs.  We ended up in Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan.  Ive always been a prideful person.  I'm proud of my city, state, family, school, religion and fairness to others. Philosophy and sharing of opinions are my driving force in life.  The biggest challenge in my life has been always trying to fair to all sides.  Most people think that this is a great attribute as do I but the problems is that people only care about the part in which you disagree with their opinion so everyone dislikes you for your beliefs at one time or another.  People love to be with people that agree with them all or most of the time an...

Family, Friends & Clients, This past year has brought many significant changes to our local real estate market. Interest rates have risen by nearly 1% as the Dow Jones Industrial Average has risen by as much as 3,800 points. Unemployment has dropped to as low as 3.7% and home prices in many areas are up as much as 10%.Our local real estate market has taken a breather due to the rising interest rates and uncertainty with a potential trade war. The Stock Market has been turbulent and home affordability has continued to drop. You might think that this indicates the bursting of a bubble. I don’t believe there is a bubble at all. Home prices are in line with the long-term average growth. There are more people ready and able to buy than there have been in many years. People have more money tha...

Have you heard the latest news from Tesla's CEO Elon Musk?  He stated that the company may be going private and would value the home at $420 per share.  The stop has fluctuated between $290 - $380 over the past six months.  The stock shot up to $30 per share to $32.50 almost immediately upon the news release.  That wasn't the genius of Elon Musk, the genius is that it is now planted in peoples head that the stock will eventually be valued at $420 so those hold the stock will not be selling and savvy buyers will be buying with this anticipation.Presented by your Friends & Realtor,Tony & Dani Lewis RE/MAX of Valenciawww.TonyLewis.com tonyglewis@yahoo.comCall/Text us at 661-510-7975

Dear Friends, Family & Clients, Independence Day better known as The Fourth of July has been a federal holiday in the United States since 1941.  The tradition actually goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution. On July 2, 1776, the Continental Congress voted for our nations independence.  Two days later a document drafted by Thomas Jefferson, Declaration of Independence, was signed by delegates from all 13 colonies. Dani & I are proud Americans and proud of America.  We welcome people from around the world and would them to enjoy our freedom and liberty.  Our only hope, prayer and expectation is for them to share our love and appreciation for our wonderful nation The United States of America. Family, Friends & Clients,There seems to be differing views of what is right or wrong when it comes to the real estate market.  Ask someone if they like rent control and the answer from home owners and investors is polar opposite from those that are not home owners.  Rent control makes owning an investment property a bad investment.  Take the career of a Realtor such as us.  We have no pension and could never survive on savings or social security so we have invested in rental properties as a way to secure our financial future.  Prices rise every year and the value of our homes go up with these increases.  Our income rises enough to cover increased taxes and maintenance fees.  If our investment properties were changed to rent control costs would continue to rise yet our income would decr...

Homes sales are slowing down for several reasons. Prime reason is lack of inventory, followed by rising interest rates and then homes being listed at a price above what a will buyer will pay. We are now seeing price reductions often in all areas of the Santa Clarita Valley. Home prices have risen significantly since the start of 2018 and with higher prices and interest rates the average days on market has continued to fall. The Median Price with all areas of the Santa Clarita Valley included stands at $544,425. The average days on market is about three weeks or less. Homes on average have had a price reduction at nearly $15,000 from their original list price.Summer Vacation for students in the Santa Clarita Valley is much shorter than is was a decade ago. School is set to begin on Augus...

Easter in on April 1, 2018.  This is the holiest day on the Christian calendar.  Most people would think Christmas was the holiest day for Christians.  Easter is to Christians the proof needed of the Divinity of Jesus Christ.  The Easter Egg and cracking it open symbolizes the opening of the tomb and the Resurection.  This came along in the 15th Century.  The Easter Bunny is said to represent new life.Easter Eggs were originally dyed red to symbolize the Blood of Christ.Easter is no a National Holiday although it is celebrated by many people of many religions.  Much like Christmas the traditions of giving out an Easter Basket, dying eggs, Easter Egg Hunt and getting together with loved ones is a common bond.  Both are Religious Holidays yet only Christmas is a National Holiday.Visit our...
