I remember what my mom and dad said about the inflation of the 1970's.  My dad called it the "thief of the night" because it robbed the people of purchasing power and lead to retirees on fixed incomes having to go back into the job market just to get by. They called in "stagflation" at the time!  Does this sound familiar!  I ran into a friend of mine "Doug" working at a local gas station.  I asked him if he retired from his job as a service rep. for a beverage firm, and he told me that the gas station was his 2nd job.  He explained that he had to get the 2nd job to pay his bills.  Then, the 60 year old clerk standing next to him added that she retireed and had to work there to supliment her social security.   As most of my blog readers know, I have been commenting on the hidden inflatio...

Today is Tuesday 3/19/2013.  We have been carefully watching the mortgage interest rates.  It is our belief that we are seeing an uptick in inflation.  Eventually the Fed will have to raise interest rates to slow inflation down.  When we are looking at higher rates in the future those that took advantage on the 3% rates will be singing for joy. Check out our web site at www.myslohomefinder.com for your San Luis Obispo home search or sales needs. What's ahead this week: Housing Market Index           The Housing Market Index is down one point this month to 46, now four points short of the 50 mark and indicating that more builders still describe conditions as bad than good. The National Association of Home Builders attributes the weakness to uncertainty over the nation's jobs market as wel...

A green office is a business that is energy efficient and environmentally conscious.  It has healthier air circulation and less toxins in the environment that we’re breathing. Why have a green office? We want to have a green office because we consider the future.  We’re going to be here for quite a few more years and after us, the future is for our children, our grandchildren, their children and grandchildren to inherit. We want to be energy efficient because we want to not only be green and do the right thing; we also want to save money on energy costs. We want to be earth friendly as well because we care about the earth that God gave us here and we want to take good care of it. You can be admired by all of your peers & clients as being one of those forward thinking people with always ...

I have been out with buyers and the inventory is shrinking!  We are looking at multiple bids on properties, and bids going at over asking price.  We have seen a few more releases of foreclosed homes, but the quality is low and some need tons of work.  No real building is going on here since it is extremely hard to get loans and the regulations and fees are prohibitively high, so we won't be able to build our way out of this. So go out and get your clients that home now since prices are going up! Also with food, energy, and now housing going up, one has to wonder when higher inflation is going to kick in?  I suspect we will see it towards the end of the year. Go to my web site at www.myslohomefinder.com for all your San Luis Obispo home search needs.   The Week Ahead: International Trade...

As an avid sportsman and golf spectator, who wants to improve his rusty game, I have recently taken a tour of what I have to call a "golfer's paradise" right here in San Luis Obispo County on the Central Coast of California.  My wife Mila, my son Marcus, and I were given a tour of the Trilogy Monarch Dunes Resort in Nipomo, California by Steve Berry the Shea Homes sales representitive.  Steve is a PGA quality former pro that drove us around the resort in his golf cart.  Steve is one of those low key sales people that I like.  No need being high pressure when you have such an outstanding product to sell.  The Trilogy is not just a resort home development it is a warm and friendly community.  It offers a wide assortment of activities to residence everything from wine making to exercise cl...
