Yesterday, after a long early morning swim, I came home and did a little gardening too.  Visions of what's for lunch began to materialize.  Choices are sometimes difficult. However, I'm learning at my age, choices aren't always necessary, if everything is available. The testament is in the photo below.  It's brunch I prepared from ALL choices taking occupancy in my head. They include a few slices of Roasted Chicken Breast, Jasmine Rice, Madras Lentils, and Fresh Asparagus. I topped with Fresh Broiled Bruschetta made with cherry tomatoes from my garden, garlic, feta cheese, a little olive oil, fresh basil, salt and pepper. On the side are three slices of toasted sourdough bread.

Spring training for Runnin for Rhett has started, but it is not too late to join in the fun.  Runnin for Rhett is a Meetup based group that trains in the greater Sacramento and Elk Grove areas.  This spring we will be training for the Shamrockin Weekend.  You can train for their 5K, 10k or their half marathon.  Our trail running group will also be training for trail races of various lengths too, including the Fourmidable Races, the Way Too Cool 50k and the Knickebocker Canyon races.  We have groups that run, run/walk and walk so there is something for everyone.  We also have groups that meet to ride bikes and play pickleball. Opening Day at McKinley ParkIf you are interested, check out our Meetup group, Runnin for Rhett, Blue Crew Training.  Let's get this year off to a great start! ! !

Our last Capitol Beer Fest was held the week before California was locked down due to the pandemic and we had to postpone it this spring, but we are back.  It is the number one fundraiser for Runnin for Rhett, the local charity that I support.  We are dedicated to getting our community to Move Into Life.  Twice a year we send coaches to local schools to train kids to run, what for many, is their first 5k.  It is all free; the training, the race, a t-shirt and their medal.  We also fund raise to give one thousand kids that need them, a pair of running shoes.Capitol Beer Fest will be a fun event with over 100 different brewers offering selections of their different beers and hard ciders.  Make sure to visit our local Elk Grove brewer, Dreaming Dog.  They have been a big supporter of our l...

  Restricted showings have always been a part of real estate and many times can even be appropriate.  For example, a client works all night and has to sleep during the day or there are dogs on the property that need to be removed.  There can be lots of reasons, but when the market gets really strong for sellers, this practice goes way up.Last week, a buyer asked me to see seven homes.  I immediately started trying to make contact with the listing agents to make appointments to view the homes and I followed their rules.  Six of the listings had instructions to call, text or email to make an appointment.  Three were listed on a Monday with first showings limited to Fri., Sat, and/or Sun., with very limited times.  I was able to get an appointment with the non-agent contact right away.  I ...

   The New Hope Community Church, a congregation of 100 members, saw a need to feed their surrounding South Sacramento neighborhood in which one in three live below the poverty line. They started a program in 2007 called The Gift of Groceries.
