Palos Verdes Estates Annual Bulky Trash Pick Up is approaching and this year it has been expanded to provide E-Waste pick up at the same time.  This popular curbside event is scheduled for Saturday, May 20, 2017.  This is the only time each year that Palos Verdes homes owners can have large items removed from their property if left curbside for pickup.  The City’s waste hauler will pick up furniture, appliances, water heaters, refrigerators (compressors removed), stoves, sinks, lawn furniture and more.  They will not pick up construction waste, green waste, automotive fluids, pool chemicals and cleaning products.  However, you may contact Athens Service directly if you have construction waste that you need to have removed at any time by ordering a temporary debris container.  Items to b... 05/15/2017

The City of Rolling Hills Estates has two different attractions at Ernie Howlett Park located within the city limits.  Ernie Howlett Park is the home of the Rolling Hills Estates Tennis Club and the Equestrian Center.This park is 35 acres and has four handball courts, multi-purpose athletic fields, a regulation basketball court, a sand volleyball court, picnic tables, barbecue pits, running track, bicycle path, and a variety of playground equipment.Eight of the tennis courts are open to the public, with a nice patio and a refreshment center. A recent Los Angeles Times article discussed the number of all cash home sales in the LA area but did not mention Palos Verdes homes sales.  I researched Palos Verdes all cash home sales and found that we did not experience the significant dip that other LA areas experienced.The LA Times article pointed out that in some areas, “Multimillion-dollar mansions, once snapped up by wealthy Chinese buyers, are now sitting empty.”  As China has tightened their regulations regarding Chinese yuan leaving their country, Chinese buyers have found themselves struggling to pay for homes here as many lenders will not give loans to borrowers without U.S. credit and necessary immigration documents.  In 2016, all cash homes sales fell 37.5% in Alhambra, 16% in San Marino and 25% in Arcadia.Palos Verdes h... 04/14/2017
