Palos Verdes homes sales in the Silver Spur neighborhood for the first half of 2017 increased to 28 single family homes sold in 2017 compared to 24 sold in 2016.  Price per square foot for Silver Spur homes that sold in the first half of 2017 increased to $621 compared to $602 in 2016 a 3.2% increase.  Average sales price for Silver Spur homes sold in the first half of 2017 increased to $1,140,710 in 2017 compared to $1,120,826 in 2016.  The most expensive Palos Verdes home sale in the Silver Spur neighborhood was $1,663,000 and the lowest priced Palos Verdes home sale in the Silver Spur neighborhood was $860,000.                                             Palos Verdes home owners once again can have their Christmas trees picked up after the holiday for free! Palos Verdes Estates residents are scheduled for pick up of their Christmas trees starting one week after the holiday January 1 through January 15, 2018.  This year, service will be provided during your normal weekly trash pickup.  Trees will be removed from your normal trash enclosure or trash area.  After January 15, 2018, however, you are responsible to cut and bundle your tree securely with twine or rope and leave it in your trash area.  Stands and all decorations including tinsel must be removed.  Lightly flocked trees are acceptable.  For more information, you can call Athens Services at (888) 336-6100. Palos Verdes real estate sales November 2017 for Palos Verdes homes decreased compared to October.  38 Palos Verdes houses sold in November which decreased from the 52 homes sold in October and decreased from the the 53 homes that sold in November 2016.  There were 52 Palos Verdes single family homes pending in November which increased from the 42 homes pending in October.  The number of active Palos Verdes homes for sale in November (152) decreased from the 183 homes for sale in October. Palos Verdes longtime residents have different stories about how the “General Store” in Rolling Hills Estates began. Some say that it was constructed in 1928 as a community theatre, others as a nursery school inside with a small market and a gas pump.The General Store was known in 1938 as the Rolling Hills Market. This was even before Rolling Hills Estates was incorporated (which happened in 1957) so at that time the paperwork on the market was issued in Lomita to the Palos Verdes Corp. Palos Verdes homes owners have many choices of holiday activities near the Peninsula during the holiday season.  On Saturday, December 9, 2017, the local 26th annual Holiday Boat Parade will take place in Redondo Beach at King Harbor.  Paddle craft boaters will be kicking off the parade at 4:30 p.m. with their decorated and lighted boards and they will be followed by power and sail boats which will be all decked out.  Each year there is a theme for the parade, and this year’s theme is “California Christmas.”  The parade’s Grand Marshall will be Vera Jimenez who will be leading the parade in the Grand Marshall boat, “Disappearance.”  For more information on the boat parade and trophy categories visit www.KHYC.org. Palos Verdes real estate single family home sales in the first 21 days of November 2017 are 30 homes which is a decrease from the 37 Palos Verdes homes sold in the first 21 days October and an increase from first 21 days of November 2016 (29).  (It may take an additional week for some sales to post after the actual close of escrow).  The average sales price for single family Palos Verdes homes from November 1st to date is $1,721,717 which is an increase from last month’s average of $1,599,703 for this same time period and an increase from $1,430,402 last November.
