Say Good-Bye to Marilyn Monroe in Palm Springs this Weekend 2 years ago FOREVER MARILYN the sculpture by Seward Johnson was trekked across country to be on display in Palm Springs. The 26 foot sculpture weighs 34,000-pounds cost about $40,000 to transport and $60,000 to clean up and re-install in downtown Palm Springs, CA. It took a week to be trucked across the country.  Since her arrival, tourists and locals have been able to enjoy the enormous statue at Palm Canyon and Tahquitz Canyon Way, Palm Springs, CA. We were in Palm Springs, in the California desert, over the weekend for wedding. Visiting with our daughter, son-in-law and the grandkids was a big part of the fun. The house we were staying at had gorgeous views of the mountains from the yard and the house. I spied the moon setting over the mountains late Saturday morning and was able to capture a couple of decent photos. It was pretty dramatic in the deep blue sky.
