Every home has a potential to grow mold and if left unattended it can become a big problem. The word mold is a huge deterrent to buyers even in  moist climates where mold is a very common occurrence. Mold can cause serious health problems when someone is exposed to significant amounts over a long period of time. So what is a homeowner to do if they have mold problems and want to sell their home? Selling a home where a mold problem has been discovered or is already known is not a small task and should be taken very seriously. If mold is not disclosed or paperwork is not  dealt with properly you could end up with a lawsuit on your hands and hefty costs to fix the situation. In an ideal situation you have found the mold before putting your home on the market. This is the time when you want...

Palm Desert CA is a pretty great place to live! With high quality public amenities, colleges, public art, parks and an aquatic center there is alot to like about this small city in the Desert. 120 miles from Los Angeles and  just 10 miles down the road from Palm Springs  which is experiencing its' very own renaissance. Between all the great  outdoor adventures, golf, shopping & dining you'll need a place to rest and recuperate. We have a great suggestion in our featured community today it is the neighborhoods of Amatista and Brenna at Capri.  These newer construction neighborhoods are located just off of Country Club drive near Washington street.  This makes it convenient to head out to other places in the valley but also puts you minutes away from world class Golf at Desert Willow. ...

Living in Cahuilla Hills CaliforniaThis small, unincorporated community is located in Riverside County about 3 miles southwest of Palm Desert. Cahuilla Hills offers several luxury homes on larger lots, more spread out then the dense population of Palm Desert or Palm Springs. Home prices for Cahuilla Hills are between $200,000 and $1.5 million. There are luxury homes over the $2 million mark and some smaller townhomes and single-family homes less than $200,000. But the majority of home prices lie between this range.Cahuilla Hills homes maintain a Palm Desert address. This community is located west of the Pines to Pal's highway on Canyon Road. It is located further up into the mountains with a top elevation of over 900 feet.Homebuyers choose Cahuilla Hills for the space and the view. Many...

We all want to get the very most profit for the sale of our property but that's simply not the reality for many home sellers across the country. So how do you know when is a good time to lower the price on your home?It all depends on where you started. Many home sellers that are not in a rush to sell their home will overprice their home in the hopes that they might get the escalated price or lower it when they don't receive the full price. The problem with this tactic is that overpriced homes tend to saturate the market confusing the actual supply and demand causing motivated sellers frustration and confusion. If you are truly motivated in selling, meaning you have a time limit on relocation, you must be out of the house in a certain time frame or you've already put an offer on another ...

Buying & Selling a Home ConsecutivelyBuying and selling a home at the same time may sound unworkable but in actuality, it's fairly common in the Coachella Valley real estate market at the moment. For good reason, homeowners want to take the sizable equity they have gained since the market rebound and put it towards a down payment on a bigger home, or in some cases a smaller home. Whatever the reason, if you have been itching for change, now is a great time to make the move.Prepare Your Home to SellThere are a lot of moving parts to take into consideration when buying and selling a home consecutively. Most commonly you will prepare your home for selling and decide with your Realtor what the best price to list your home is. You will want to list your home at a price that grants you the hi...

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds Last night was the big night at our house for carving Jack-o-lanterns out of our pumpkins. This year I decided to save the seeds to try roasting them.   I looked up a recipe this morning and gave it a whirl. In as little as 5 steps, the recipe by ohsheglows.com, was fun, easy and the end result was fabulous!  As you carve your pumpkins, save the seeds. Not only are they super yummy, they are good for you as well. Pumpkin seeds are packed with iron, magnesium, fiber, zinc, potassium, healthy fats, protein, and tryptophan. Luckily we still have one more pumpkin! Seconds please :) Happy Halloween!

We had lunch at Grill-A-Burger in Palm Desert, on Country Club Drive a few days ago.  It was our first time at this location and we arrived before noon and the place was pretty quiet.  In minutes the restaurant started filling up, including the outside patio.   I ordered the #9 PANCHO VILLA With fire roasted green chile, avocado, pepper jack cheese, onion, tomato, romaine lettuce, and chipotle mayo. Mucho delicious amigos! 9.95    My husband, Bob, had the #11 GREAT EGGSPECTATIONS With a farm-fresh fried egg, grilled onions, and Cheddar cheese and crisp hardwood smoked bacon. 9.95   Both burgers were cooked to order medium-rare and were flavorful and juicy!  We also shared the delicious  LORD OF THE RINGS – BEER-BATTERED ONION RINGS.
