The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is in the planning stages of evaluating seawater desalination. 85% of L.A city water supply is imported from outside sources. Due to a drought, high demand from the agriculture, and of course people living in the city. The time has come to find other sources of water. The more water that L.A. can provide for itself. The less of a strain it will put on the sources we have now. To find out more about this project click here. Do you Have a Real Estate question?  Have you just moved to Northridge, Granada Hills, Chatsworth, Reseda, or even any of the other cities in the San Fernando Valley? Maybe you have been living here, and you find it tough to find that good mechanic.I am writing this post because I want to share with you that special mechanic you should know about. I personally Have been going to Steve`s Express Automotive for over 15 years, and I have never met a better Repair shop ever. I refer this repair shop to all my friends, and clients, and now I am referring them to you. There is no better way to say thank you to someone for a job well done than to refer them to your friends, family, and neighbors. Steve`s Express opened its doors in 1990. They have been located at the same location this entire time. 10324 Zelzah Ave. Northridge C...

Got junk Lately I have been driving around my neighborhood, and I have been seeing these trucks that say on the side of them "Got Junk" 1-800-got-junk. So Today I decided that I wanted to find out more about this company (company Info.) and if it would be helpful for my clients, when they buy, and sell a home. What I found out is that this company is for hire. They will come out, and pick up your trash, and dump it for you. I found this to be a great idea for my clients. No more having to call a trash company to come out drop off a trash container,  fill up, and have to worry about the neighbors filling it up before you do. No more Drop off fee, no more pick up fee, no more weight fee. This company will come out, and give you a price before they take your trash away. What a great idea.Do...

Contracts   When I meet with a new client that is looking to buy a home. We sit down and talk. I am interested in finding out more about my new clients, and how I can help them buy a home. I want to find out what is important to them, and what they are looking for in a home. I then give them a copy of the purchase contract to go over.I want my clients to understand the purchase contract. I want them to review the contract, and if they have a question about it ask me. Buying a house is going to be the biggest purchase that most homebuyers are going to make in their life. I want them to understand the contract, because if they don`t, they are not going to feel comfortable. What I find really amazing are the new clients that I work with that have been using a previous realtor. The previous...

Bull Creek looking north from Nordhoff                     Above postcard will be sent on request.        The Walnut Cove area of Northridge, California is bounded by Nordhoff Street on the south, Plummer Street on the north, Balboa Boulevard on the west and Bull Creek on the east.An interesting thing about the area of Walnut Cove is that the U.S. Post Office uses the 91343 zip code, actually the North Hills zip code, for Walnut Cove.  All of North Hills and Northridge, including Walnut Cove, are actually part of the City of Los Angeles.  The City of Los Angeles designates the official names and boundaries for the various communities within the city's confines, and the City of Los Angeles uses Bull Creek as the eastern boundary of Northridge.Wal...

For as long as I have been here Fire station # 87 Has been located at the same Location.LAFD Fire Station 87    10241 Balboa Blvd,  Northridge, CA 91325The current one is a real small fire house. For the past 18+ months the city has been Building the new home of fire station # 87 less than a block away, and across the street. I have been trying to get information on this new Fire station. However I have been unsuccessful in finding out when this new Fire station will open. It is at least 3 times bigger than the old one. From what I can see it is going to have more fire engines, and ambulances, and a training center in back. As soon as they open up, and have an op...

Travel Town Museum  What is it? Where is it? Well that is why I am writing this blog. Travel Town in its pure form is an outdoor Transportation Museum of old railroad cars, which preserves and celebrates the railroad heritage of the Western United States. In its collections are Locomotives, freight cars, cabooses, passenger cars, and motorcars dating back to 1899.The idea of Travel Town was created by Charley Atkins in the late 1940. The original intention of Travel Town was to be a railroad petting zoo. It has been nothing but fun, excitement, and great people.Talking about great people I wanted to say something about one particular person. Cyndee Haydon I can`t say enough great things about Cyndee. I have been reading her blogs, and commenting. She has been commenting on my blogs as well.Yesterday I received an e-mail from Cyndee, telling me that I have been doing a good job, but if I would like to take my blogging up to the next level I should feel free to call her. Before anyone even thinks that she was bragging, please do not allow that to cross your mind. I took it as an invitation to get a chance to learn from an expert. Today I gave Cyndee a call, and without hesitation she took the time to talk to me. When I made the call ...
